I'm having a problem I've seen before... when I load the ROM onto YY-CHR, I get a bunch of garbage tiles. How do I fix it?

You dont... YYCHR is displaying the rom data as graphical data, and well... its more than likely going to be disorganized...

But... If you REALLY want to fix the problem, load .bin files...

if its SMW then you are supposed to load the .bin file AllGFX.bin. If its another ROM then I have no idea.

You know, I never would have thought of loading .bin files. I guess that will work. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Dont forget your palettes.

Use savestates from the levels you are working on for them.

Or it can be that the GFX of the game you're ripping from are compressed.

Hidden Mario, are the GFX in YI compressed? If so how do I uncompress GFX. I need as many Goomba GFX as possible. I am replacing EVERY enemy spirit, including bowser, with goomba GFX (this is not for SSW, my current hack).

No, they're not compressed. They never were compressed, and I actually can't find an AllGFX.bin, so I'm still having the problem.

Did you extract the graphics? If you didn't, then of course you are not going to find any .bin files.

Click the Red and Blue mushrooms and then go to the folder with your hack in it. You should now see some new folders. Graphics has the standard graphics in it and ExGraphics... well... ExGFX...

Then open the .bin files in YY-CHR and change the setting from Genesis to SNES. Then you can start editing.

Heh, it's just AllGFX.bin if you go to options > Use Joined GFX Files and then extract the graphics from the ROM. Else it'll be in just GFX00.bin to GFX33.bin; Mind you, I posted a thread where I listed what's in every one, but it's gotten so far down you can't see it. I'll go get a link.

EDIT: Here we go.

That's kind of odd, as I've did that before and seen AllGFX.bin... I'll try it again. Maybe that will work...

You need to switch the type of graphics to "SNES 4pp"
