OK, apparently for the bonus stage when you collect 100 stars, the game randomly chooses between level 0 and another identical stage. Is there a way to remove level 0 from that list? I'd like to make that a "Kins forgot to set this exit! Email him and bitch him out!" level, due to level 0 being the default level for exits. |

It's not random. It depends on what overworld level number you just finished: 0xx levels use level 0, 1xx levels use level 100. It works the same way for Yoshi's bonus levels (C8 or 1C8). You could probably hack the routine that reads the screen exit tables to intercept and replace 00 with a different level number. I'm examining it right now... [EDIT] Done! Rather than upload an IPS patch, I'll just tell you what to change. At $2D9C0, enter the following: 20 C0 DC Then, at $2DEC0, enter the following: D0 07 AC 25 14 D0 02 A9 FF 8D BB 17 60 Now, anytime the game tries to exit to level x00 (unless the bonus game flag at $1425 is set), it will exit to xFF instead. All you have to do is put your "error message" in levels FF and 1FF. That's it! Here's mine. Hope you don't mind me borrowing the idea...
