Much more friendly than Gmail, because you don't depend on people inviting you . . . which most do just because people ask them for one. Rediff is matching Google's service, by going 1 GB free. Sign up here: http://mail.rediff.com/registernewmail.htm |

I've never used up more than a megabyte, let alone 1000 of them, so all this seems kinda useless to me. But of course, I set up a Gmail account anyways, just to brag about it.

I believe the first 10,000 people got accounts when they signed up. Of course Google has millions of visitors, so that was nearly impossible. |

1GB is probably more than I'd ever need too, and I never delete my old messages (except spam, of course) ... but that service seems to be from India, rather unusual I think I'm still staying with my old acmlm@overclocked.org, it matches my site and I got unlimited space there (because of POP3 access, so it all goes on my computer), the only real problem I have is spam |

Nice tooltip on that URL. I can't possibly imagine needing 1GB of email space for anything personal. Maybe if you were like a huge software company... I'll probably sign up, but I'm a bit suspicious. Lesee... Terms of use, oh, this oughta be good. the Rediffmail Service is advertising supported - If this were software, I'd be closing it, deleting the installer, and sanitizing the folder it were in right now. you grant Rediff.com the right to disclose the aggregate Registration Data to third parties in connection with marketing the Services. Furthermore, Rediff.com may itself use your individual Registration Data to provide targeting of advertisements and other Service offers. - Fake info to the rescue! WHY DO THESE PEOPLE ALWAYS INSIST ON HAVING AT LEAST 2 SECTIONS IN ALL CAPS? IT'S VERY ANNOYING AND HARD TO READ! AND WHY IS IT ALWAYS SECTIONS 8 AND 9? ...OK, submit a post before I'm done writing it again, and I'm installing Realplayer on you. *Kicks windoze* The Service may include a maximum of 1 GB of free e-mail storage per subscriber. - MAY include. MAXIMUM of. As in, you're not guaranteed 1GB. No, that's not suspicious at all. You agree that the size of the the mailbox can grow to 1GB over a period of time. Rediff.com reserves the right to limit the rate of growth of the mailbox to a reasonable limit at its own discretion and without prior notice. - How do you like that? I was right. You start off with a few MB or so, and after about a million zillion years, the space will grow to 1GB. (edited by HyperHacker on 06-21-04 05:23 PM) |

I would never need 1GB of mail space. I get about... 1 e-mail every 2 weeks, which every 1 of 2 is spam, and the other is an advertisment from some website that I'm signed up on, which I also delete .

HH: the Windows EULA is a lot worse than this. I suggest you read it, and uninstall Windows if you don't want personal information to go to the NSA (yes, in the USA, even if you're Canadian) at will by Microsoft or the NSA.

Well, the trick of course is that you have the 1GB of space, but VERY FEW PEOPLE are going to end up using all that space. The odd person might but I'm guessing that Google won't exactly be using 500 TB of info for all their users. Not at first. I'll probably get a GMail account eventually as a secondary account, but I like POP e-mail. |

I still hadn't used my three invited on Gmail. I like gmail, fast and text only ads. But it's a good thing that Google started with this gmail thing, it really will change how the other free mail sites will work. Hehe... |

Yeah, while 1GB is space would be nice for little more than compensating for certain shortcomings... At this point, I think my E-mail address (Emptyeye@juno.com, and I frankly get enough spam that I don't care if I get a little more now) is basically synonymous with my internet identity, as it were. |

I actually got Gmail now, but the service I showed here might still be useful to people. Pop Goes the Gmail is what got me to switch to Gmail instead. |
