I personally prefer the Z80. Nice robust instruction set, easily available (crack open any TI-8x calculator, Sega Genesis, or Game Boy (though the GB uses a modified version)), and no minimum clock speed. You can't get that with a 6502.

Since core-level/ASM instruction sets continue to own me royally, I'll take the intricate network of gears and water buckets.

I'll take the Z80 as well. Whether the carry bit should matter or not can be chosen, any register can be incremented or decremented, added to or subtracted from, and it's just in general a much more flexible little chip than the 6502.

I pick the Z80, becouse it's the most populer, most compatable & it's been around for years .

I'd have to say the Z80, because i've got a TI-85. Nyah.. Oh, and it's the one i've had the most experience and ease of use with, heh. ... Though don't the 89, 92, 92+, and V200 (i think) have 68k processors? |

Of course the z80, I think it's more flexible, easier and gives a better perfomance. I like the 6502 too, but it isn't as good as the z80.

Since I haven't learned to program yet, I'll say the "intricate network of pulleys, gears and buckets of water". (edited by Atma X on 06-29-04 06:58 PM) |

I find the classic feeling crisper on the 6502 than on most systems I am familiar with on a z80 CPU. I am a big fan of 8-bit re-computing on the 6502 engine.

I'm a fairly big fan of the NES and Apple IIe, both of which used a 6502... so guess which one I voted for.
