ARRRRRGH @ Pointers in C++.

I mean, I understand how to use them, and I understand pretty well what they're used for, but actually trying to implement them bends my brain in ways I can't comprehend. I think part of the problem was that I learned pointers and passing by reference in one fell swoop. While they're similar, they're different enough that I should probably have learned them seperately.

Yeah, play Hiryuu first before you suddenly assume he's better than you... or check out some of his ZSNES movies on Zophar.

Too late, I already "obtained" it.

(The problem is that I obtained Civ 3 and Conquests. Conquests + Free version of Gold = Messed up graphics. Learned that the hard way. So now things are working fine.)

Yeah, DW1/2 for GBC is much easier because of the extra items - STRSeed's were not in the original, for starters. Still a really fun playthrough though. Enix did a great job with the GBC ports.

Much higher EXP and gold gain too (like about 600 gold for a Goldman instead of 150-200), in the Dragon Warrior 1 remake for GameBoy Color ... I remember playing it for about 30 minutes last year, I got to Level 14

Hmm, I still have to add the Final Fantasy + Chrono Trigger + Secret of Mana Squaresoft ranks, maybe I'll do that later tonight

As long as it doesn't cause any trouble and everyone's having fun, who cares really, maybe that's why the old unstrict days were so great


I remember last year when I used to do about half of my posting in the last hour before midnight, the daily ACS rush ... but it got tiring after a while

And then I had this other trick where I'd type posts and not enter them until midnight to get a headstart for the next day ... I think I did 19 posts like this once

Haw haw!

So no one attempted to pass me while I was gone? That sucks...I would've thought I would've been plenty easy to pass...but I was getting this 'new' monitor put in and getting a few things down in SM...

You know, with all the talk of ranksets here, one that would be relatively easy might be a Dragon Warrior (NES) one...as the enemies have no animation and all.

And yeah, the GBC one does have much better balance in terms of EXP and gold..not nearly as much time spent building levels.

It's called I got third place, third place, first place. Not that hard to do the math.

I'm online as Surlent on ZBattle.net, due to time zone offsets and things that could distract me (games, a board, IRC etc.), I'm usually not online before 2:00 AM/20:00 h CEST, mostly hosting Mario Kart and Contra 3 games or joining these
The last game lagged for me as hell, while my opponent had a fluent play, as I saw how he smashed me. As said dozens of times, it is pure luck, if the games runs good or bad.
I'm not good at all in Tetris Attack, I lost all games; but this does not mean I don't want to participate in the tourney too
