| <3 ACS. My prior font was viner hand ITC. I changed it to...something else, I don't remember what. It should be easier to read now. Anyway, I'm working on the design for a text-based RPG that blatantly misapplies and yet disregards Xenogears-like religious symbolism. I spell it out in the basic plot: You are an angel. Your job: Kill Satan. And all the weapons and armor and such is named things like Blade of the Father and Consecrated Leather and the like. Because my goal is evidently to offend as many people as possible.  In any event, I need to learn a little more about Object-Oriented programming first. Then I'll probably start coding the thing in my free time. It won't be overly complex, it'll moreso be one of those projects that says "Look, I can go on my own and fill in the gaps in programming knowledge--in this case, OOP--that my schooling didn't cover. Oh, and I can design too." By the way, anyone know of any companies hiring in the Waterbury, CT, USA area? |

| Yeah, makes no sense doing it on the last day eh? People said that ACS did bring spam, but honestly the activity did go down yes... but it was the good activity to. And in the ACS you do notice when somebody posts much and of course the admins usually take a closer look on that spreer. |

| ACS was fun. I stopped participating a while before it was shut down, but I remember when I was engaged in it.. like, having a battle with Hiei.. omg that was awesome. If it returned or not I doubt I'd care, but I support bringing it back. Another thing to bitch about in irc. I personally didn't see a huge problem with the back-and-forth posting and borderline spaminess of such landmarks as the Birth of Wooster Syndrome. But that's just me.
The basic reason for this is that my knowledge is somewhat limited right now. I can do a text RPG easily (Well, easily enough) without also having to go and write design tools for it as well (Though I could do that too). With a graphics-based RPG, I'd likely have to do a design kit for it as well, which I'm not likely to do yet for two main reasons besides my lack of know-how: 1. There are various tools which already do this, and do it well, and 2. The scope of such a project, particularly doing "demo" tiles for the landscape and such, takes artistic skill far beyond my capabilities. So unless you want me to do a stick-figure RPG (Isn't there one of THOSE too?), you'll have to settle for text. Don't worry, I have plans to eventually attempt a simple, old-school-like graphics RPG. My ultimate plan for the text RPG is actually to have a little map in the bottom-right corner to help you with your bearings. But we'll see what ultimately comes of any of this. I was working with Kefka on the Kirby's Adventure project for awhile (and intend to return to it, assuming it's still going ahead...  ), but I ended up gettig horribly sidetracked when I was struck by a big stinking pile of school-related obligations. That was, like, a month ago. I still have a big Biology project, a Psychology paper, and a Religion essay to hand in, before I'm in the clear. What's worse is that the latter two projects are due tomorrow.  And Kefka's... leaving? Huh. He's been the most prominent poster here by a long shot since he overtook Kitten Yiffer a few weeks ago, and now he's just... poof? Maybe he's exhausted his interest; I know I'd be just about out of relevant things to say by now if I'd been posting like that (hell, I can barely keep a simple trivia game running). And are there any more rank styles in the works/are we open to knew ones? And if, say, I wanted to make one, how might I go about submitting it? |

I've never really tried a text RPG before. Didn't someone say they were going to make a Super Metroid rank sheet? Fyxe stands out in my mind regarding this. |
