I HATE the american version, by the way....

We're going from their american name to their orginal name. Oh and remember, in Japan, they last name is usually first.

1. Serena (not that bad of a name, really, but where the hell did they get it from?) = Tuskino Usagi

2. Amy (not a nig change, so why bother with any change at all?) = Mizuno Ami

3. Raye Hino (same as above) = Hino Rei

4. Lita = Kino Makoto

5. Mina = Aino Minako

6. Darien = Chiba Mamoru

7. Rini = Chibi-Usa

8. Trista (I HATE her name like that) = Meiou Setsuna

9. Amara (The hell is that anyway?) = Tenou Haruka

10. Michelle = Kaiou Michiru

11. Hotaru = Tomoe Hotaru

And then some little info that I found on some website that I will link to at the bottom. Enjoy.

tsuki means "moon", usagi means rabbit and Tsukino Usagi means "rabbit of the moon". This refers to a Japanese legend that a rabbit that lives on the moon and makes mochi (a sticky rice delicacy). According to this custom, you can see the shape of a rabbit in the face of the full Moon. In other words Tsukino Usagi is the Japanese equivalent of 'the man in the moon'.

mizu or sui means "water". sei means star or heavenly body. suisei is the Japanese name for the planet Mercury.

hi or ka means "fire". kasei means the planet Mars.

ki or moku means "tree". mokusei means the planet Jupiter.

ai means "love". mi or bi means "beautiful". The name for the planet Venus in Japanese is kinsei (kin means "gold"). However, because Japanese symbols (kanji) can have more than one pronunciation depending on the context, the symbols mi-na-ko can also be read as bi-na-su. binasu is how Japanese would pronounce the word "Venus".

chi means "earth". chikyuu means "planet Earth". mamoru means "protect". kamen means "mask".

sera (Sailor) is written phonetically. These symbols have no meaning except for their sound. Note that the Sailor Identities always use the English planet names. For example Sailor Mercury is called "Sailor Mercury" in Japanese, she's not called Sera Suisei.

chibi means "little" or "mini"

meiou means "underworld king" (i.e. Pluto)

tenou means "sky king" (i.e. Uranus)

kaiou means "ocean king" (i.e. Neptune)

tomoe means "Saturn", hotaru means "firefly"

And here is the url where I found the info from.

Lita: I should get the part because I have the most talent

Makoto: I should get the part because I have the largest breasts

I'll leave it up to all of you.

I was about ready to rip my freaking ears off when I heard Usagi talk in the Amercian version. OW MY FREAKIN EARS!

I have got to see more of the Japanese version...the only thing I have down on the series is that I have a LOT of unread manga and the SNES games on my comp...that's it.

; let's just say that the biggest difference in my opinion is that Haruka and Michiru ARE. NOT. COUSINS. *sigh* Well, they just aren't I mean come on

but remember, the creators have never "explicitly" said they are what you are inferring either...

anyways, i wonder what is worse, the change of haruka/michiru relationship or zoesite (sp?) is actually a guy...

Do two people enter a contest of true love as non lovers? That's one of many points of proof to confirm that *nod* and Zoecite being a girl is just plain scary.

That right there pissed me off until no end when I heard how "kiddie up" the american version was.

I mean, come on...and did they even air the ep when Makoto was head over heels for Haruka, in america?

tomoe means "Saturn", hotaru means "firefly"

First I've heard of that; Saturn is "dosei" and the "tomo" in the name Tomoe is usually "intelligence", "wisdom", or "friend".

Mizuno Ami is a good one though. Not only does "mizu" mean water, but "ami" is Okinawan for rain.

I grew up watching the american version and it was okay, but when I saw my first japanese episode, I nearly died because it was so awsome.

I really hate how things are translated in america.Oh how I hate my country.

Another poor show americanised to make it seem like a little kids cartoon. Why can't they just do direct translations. I watched the american version and I hated it. Maybe the japanses version will be better.

The german version is funny, the call Usagi Bunny, and the rest with the Japanese names. (Bunny Tsukino, hehe).

I tried to read the manga, but its to bright.. everything so white, hard on my eyes, stopped after the second volume.
But I LIVE Sailor Moon Crossover Fanfiction.

I've never seen any of the japanese episodes but I have read a couple of the mangas, and they are much better than the american episodes.
