Tannim walked between the rows of tombstones, reading the names of the people he passed by in the light of a flashlight. Two translucent figures floated behind him, a boy no older than 15, and a yellow-fured kitsune.

Stopping at one headstone, Tannim lowered to his knees, the bottom of his trenchcoat pooling at his feet, and placed both his hands upon the earth of the grave. Both him and his friends closed their eyes and bowed their heads, as if paying last respects to a comrade.

Tannim's vigil was intrupted as the cemetary's gates creaked open, and he could hear the movement of another person entering the graveyard.

The boy quietly asked, "You locked the gate when you came in here, right Tannim?"

Tannim quickly replied, "Yes," before returning to his feet and making his way towards the newcomer.

Another teen stood a distance away, one of the gate's cold metal bars clenched in his hand. He stood, staring dully at the cemetary's other visitor as he lightly shut it behind him. His brown hair was spiked, yet still sagged down. He was dressed in a simple black shirt and trousers.

"They make locks a little differently around here, of course." he did the lock behind his back, him obviously having done it before.

Both beings around Tannim turned to Tannim, not knowing if the newcomer could see them or not. However, before either could speak, Tannim asked, "Seeing as you must have a key for that lock, who have you come to mourn? This is a private graveyard."

The boy nodded to Tannim's left, and then to his right. Obviously he was noticing something. "...I hadn't been aware. With a lock that decrepit I figured this place was fair game. Don't mind me... I just like to have a chat with the locals once in a while. Name's Zed."

If that hadn't been a dead giveaway, he really didn't know what to say.

Tannim and his two friends noticed Zed's movement, and Tannim introduced his friends. "The young boy is Jr. and the kitsune is FX. As you've noticed, they are spirits." Both of Tannim's companions nodded to Zed.

"None of the spirits of those normally here appear to be here tonight, though."

"A nature and human spirit... usually you don't see those in too close proximity, let alone with the same medium. I bet I came a bit early tonight, but why no spirits remain is beyond me..."

Zed rubbed his chin. The air rippled in front of a nearby tree, and the hazy form of what looked like a solder, dressed in loose-fitting attire, could be seen leaning - sharing the same expression.

Tannim shruged. "They work well in tandum." His spirits grinned and gave each other a high-five behind Tannim's back as he asked Zed a question. "I take it the soldier over there is you medium. Am I correct?"

"The Unknown Soldier is a man of few words." Zed half-pivoted, glancing back. "From the looks of things he was slain at some point during the second World War, though in his current form I've never been able to tell exactly how he died, and he doesn't seem too eager to enlighten me. But... he seemed content enough when I came to this place several months ago to act as my medium for the time being. Maybe there's places or people he wants to see for the last time, I can't tell for sure..."

Tannim sat on the ground in thought. "If he did die during the Second World War, the only people I could think of him wanting to see are family, comrades, and or any rivals he might have had. Has he told you anything about when he was still alive?"
