In the 'Info' section, it mentions that "thanks to the Game Boy Player, it's possible to play all of the Zelda series on the Nintendo Gamecube". Makes sense to me. Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages and 4 Swords are all GB/GBA games, so you can play them on the GBP. (Well, not the Gamecube version of 4S, but... well if I need to explain how to play that on a GCN, you're an idiot. ) The disc contains Zelda, Adventures of Link, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker is already a Gamecube game. So yeah, that's all the... Wait! What about A Link To The Past on SNES? I don't see that anywhere on the disc (except the movie), and there's no SNES Player... Think Nintendo's trying to tell us something? (Or did they just screw up big time? ) I also found it amusing what a horrible job they did hiding the fact that the games are emulated. The NES game menu simply says "NES Game" rather than the game's name, that pretty much gives it away right there. (Not to mention, it looks nothing like the rest of the game.) It's not tied into the game, like you don't get a save prompt or anything. Everything's still the same, except the word "PAUSE" in big letters when you pause the game, which doesn't look at all like the rest of the game. (At least in OoT and MM, they tried to make it look like the additions were part of the game, like when you create a new save file.) Of course, the biggest hint is that they actually warn you that MM may not play correctly 'because of its transfer from the N64 version'. Haha. If they had really cross-compiled for the GCN, I somehow doubt those bugs would exist. (There's some graphic bugs, and the game actually crashes on rare occasions. Even Nintendo can't make a proper N64 emulator. |

That majoras mask crashes happens my sister now and then. And who said that they were trying to hide the fact that they emulate it? Nintendo have used the word Emulation countless times about ther own product. (I saw it at Nintendo.com homesite about Pok |

What was the point of that whole first post?? A Link To The Past is playable on the GameCube -- it's called The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords. Nintendo is not in any way, shape, or form hiding the fact that they used emulation to bring the old NES games to GameCube. So, there's no point in saying they did a horrible job of hiding it. Majora's Mask does have various subtle problems, but it's beyond Nintendo's ability to fix without altering the original game. Nintendo's N64 Emulator for the GameCube is as good as it's gonna get. (And it's not too bad anyway.) Edit: Something interesting to note though, the whole Zelda series is STILL not playable on the GameCube. There's always those 3 little titles that Nintendo wants so badly to forget about... (edited by Kirby PopStar on 06-18-04 03:34 PM) |

Ah, THOSE titles. Didn't Nintendo actually have little-to-nothing to do with them though? |

Originally posted by Emptyeye Yeah, they were created by Animation Magic, Inc. If you've never heard of them, it's probably since they must've produced nothing but crap. (Still, Mystique is pretty well-known.. might have something wih the nature of their games) |

Nintendo basically just let them use the characters and items. They had the rights to make games based on the series but I'm pretty sure Nintendo had no say in the content. Miyamoto probably had a heart attack when he saw the games. |

Yes, but great creators do have a certain sense of pride in their work... So if nothing else, the Dom just eased the pain.

What about this game? You can't play that on a GC. |

Ok, let's say it meant that all main well-known games was playable on the GCN. Soon people probably would include hacks and flash games as games that are not playable on GCN. |

Isn't that just a smaller version of the G&W Zelda? Ask someone in Nintendo about that one and they'd probably just stare at you for a few minutes. |

HyperHacker: I think he meant the port of LttP for the GBA - which included Four Swords.

Yes on GBA they released LoZ:LttP with Four Swords. Now there is a Four Swords Adventure game for GC, but it is different. |
