Xevious isn't a bad game at all but it's not one people will pay that kind of money for. The only ones buying the game are collectors and maybe some old-school gamers who have fond memories of setting the high score in their local pizza parlor.

I'm getting LoZ for GBA, but I have an original GBA. Not an SP. Yeah, I know. Old skool GBA goodness. I'll get one once I get a job, and after I get Metal Slug 3 (XBOX), another XBOX controller and an iPod. An SP is not my highest priority right now. =P

Yeah, but... that's the closest you'll get these days unless you could find all 8 of those games at a flea market/used game store. Apparently Xevious was released in North America for the NES. That surprised me, I thought it was passed over. |

Originally posted by Colleen You're mostly right, but you've got one tiny bit of information wrong. Mappy was in the first set of ten games. We got all of the first set except for Mappy and Star Soldiers because they didn't see a North American release (on the NES, mind you). As far as I know, only one of the ten games in the second series hasn't gotten a North American release... But there's also one game that, if Nintendo has any sense left, they won't release over here. I speak of the game they've already given us five identical copies of in the GBA. I speak of Mario Bros. |

Why is everyone complaining, "Nintendo didn't listen to us and is still making ports", and "It's too expensive" !? It's the 20th Anniversary, that's the whole idea. They aren't just "making more ports" or anything like that. They want to bring back the old games for nostalgiac purposes. I bought some of the Famicom Mini Series already, so I don't know if I'll be getting any of these... Also, Nintendo had to push enough for that price point. It's expensive and all, but it's a lot better than it could have been. |

e-Reader, Animal Crossing, Classic NES... Yet if Nintendo just made some compilation carts, they'd probably make more sales than the 3 combined over time. JDavis: Mappy was never released here - Star Soldier WAS. However, I think out of the 9 that were released here... it's the least known and likely wouldn't sell diddley-poo. |

There was a sequel called Mappy-Land that saw release here. I own it. And I'd thought Star Soldier was released here...I specificially remember one of those "Win at Nintendo Games" videos talking about it. |

Yeah, now that was... um... It was a NES original though. Never saw arcade release I don't believe, at least according to MAME. Star Soldier was a Hudson game, I think... Might not have been released by them in America though. They did a GameCube remake recently. |

Mappy is easily the most whipped creature on the planet, if Mappy-Land is any indication. "Quick! Get the gifts before time runs out! Uh-oh! Mappy Love Interest is sad! DO THE LAST LEVEL OVER!" Right up there with the guy from Brix/Zzyzzyxx: "MAKE LOLA HAPPY. GET LOLA GIFTS. LOLA WANTS MORE GIFTS." |

I find Mario bros to be a awesome game, but I prefer the GBA version over the orginal NES version. Especially since the GBA version seems to be harder. I got more far on the NES version of Mario bros and I gave up as it didn't seem to get harder. _>

I think they've overpriced the classic NES games. I'm not going to buy such a simple game like Ice Climber for $20. Maybe Super Mario Bros. or Legend of Zelda, but the others are overpriced.

I was telling my friend how people must be dumber than rocks if they are willing to pay $20 for the Classic NES series. Then she said that she bought Zelda... it was then, when I just wanted to smack her. I would get the Classic NES GBASP only because it looks cool and I need to get a new GBA anyways (my sister wants my old one, and I need a backlight), but I wouldn't get the Classic NES games... If they released some of them on e-reader cards, then it would promote the e-reader (the only game that couldn't be released on the e-reader would be Zelda and that is because of the save file). Then release Zelda, Zelda 2, and Zelda Link's Awakening DX in one cart. THAT would be worth $30 right there |

Zelda's worth it. The other ones, not so much, but Zelda? come on!

Dark Sorc: As Nick said, the general concensus is that Zelda is really the only game worth it, and even that's a stretch given that it's been rereleased on the Gamecube recently.

Only if you got the Collector's Edition though. Lots of people did but there's those who couldn't get it, sooo... I'd buy Zelda but not at $35 Canadian. |

The Famicom Mini series is better, has a better nostalgia-feeling (ie: Package) than the NES-Classics. But don't forget, like allready mentioned in the thread: It is only for Nostalgic purposes and the 20th anniversary of the NES and Famicom. And 20 Bucks is about the lower border for a GBA game to sell with profit. I think the cartridge with the package, the commercial and the distribution is what costs so much, not the game. |
