Jizuko - Yeah but at least a new IE version is something to mention, as it usually brings with it a slew of Windows Update fixes in the upcoming days.

I'm currently testing it and it works fine, not much changes thought.

Yes, you must install the plugins again. But they are not that hard to install. Infact the browser says that a plugin is needed (when you visit a site with flash) and you automatically get's redirected to Macromedia's site.

Not that hard.

0.9 really doesn't seem to be that advantageous over 0.8, but I have it anyway.

And don't complain if a program you like has a new version without a thread about it. Make one. Heh, I made a thread about PearPC, although not many were interested in it.

A friend of mine grabbed it for his comp yesterday, and the only difference I noticed is the spinning loading symbol was changed. Seeing as 0.8 works fine, I see no point in upgrading yet.

... wait a second, to use flash I have to get a plugin now?

What about Java? A decent status bar? Mouse gestures? A way to get rid of that stupider-than-IE spinning logo shit?

Even more of a reason for me to just delete this garbage. 6 megs for this piece of trash... Opera's 12MB, but has all of that crap built-in [and it'san assload more customizable, thanks].

You need plugin for all browsers, even IE. Heck there was a legal case about Java in IE. So if you want Java in IE now. You must download a seperate plugin.

Besides, you maybe even have messed somehting up in the installation.

Java and flash has to be plugins/external applications, you can't view flash or java (NOT JAVASCRIPT) in any browser without installing stuff from both sites. If your browser has inbuilt support to these two with the install, they have to had an agreement with those companies, otherwise it's illegal. And to my knowledge, no browser has.

I've noticed a few new things, I mean, you can't ask for a revelation in each version number.
There is an extensionmanager that works pretty good, a theme manager and the nicer loading icon There's also supposed to be some new features that you don't see right away, like some export features or something.

According to the main site;
"New in Firefox 0.9

* - Extension Manager
* - Theme Manager
* - Data Migration/Import
* - New Visual Theme
* - Better Bookmarks
* - Better Search
* - Smaller Download
* - Online Help"

Edit: No this will not be moved, this concerns pretty many users, I for one. And it will stay here.

Because I'm too lazy to reinstall my plugins, plus Firebird works fine, I'm staying with 0.7... still. Maybe I'll upgrade when 1,0 comes out..

No, you had them installed but you need to reinstall them again when you installed the newer version.

Or you didn't install it propely.

This is pretty sweet! =D
I mostly like this because it has tabbed browsing. Whoever invented tabbed browsing is a God.

Oooo tabbed browsing.

If you think that Firefox/Mozilla invented tabbed browsing, you're wrong. I'm sure Opera had it long before them.

Seeing as how the version of Mozillia I downloaded long ago ddin't have it, yet Opera [which I downloaded ~1wk later] did.

Really, try Opera sometime....

I just find it ironic that Firefox, which is supposed to be thin and light as oppsed to say, Mozilla or Opera, containing jsut the basic shit, still loads slower than Opera.

The trashcan300 needs an upgrade...That's all. I mean firefox loads in 2ms on any new computer...I never use tabbed browsing. It's annoying I prefer to click at the bottom of the screen to switch pages...
