All of those are right, except number 2. It's another trick, really.

At any cost, NSNick has the most, so I'm giving him the point. Triangles must apply by these inequalities, where a, b, and c are the sides. a+b>c b+c>a a+c>b Scores 1st. wolfman2000-5 points 1st. Grey-5 points 1st. NSNick-5 points 4th. Kirby all the way-2 points 4th. Heian-794-2 points 5th. Emptyeye-1 point 6th. Teddylot-0 points Question 21 (1 point)- A swimming pool has 3 sections. One section is 8 feet both ways, and 2 feet deep. Another is 16 x 14, and 5 feet deep. The last is 3 x 12, and 13 feet deep. Find the volume of the pool. |

I did say it was just a line. And you could kinda see it as a triangle with angles of 180, 0, and 0. Sorta. Not really, but shhhh....

1: A parabola, it's a quadratic equation. 2: A graph with an asymptote at (0,0), with Y approaching negative infinity before 0, and Y falling from positive infinity after zero. 3: A straight line, it's linear. That's stretching it a bit, but it's all I could think of. (edited by Grey on 06-29-04 10:57 AM) |

You could have called number 2 a hyperbola. Anyway, you get the point, Grey. Scores 1st. Grey-6 points 2nd. NSNick-5 points 2nd. wolfman2000-5 points 4th. Kirby all the way-3 points 5th. 2, 32, 532, 8532, 28532, # 728532 Because: You add 1 higher each time (going from 2 - 3 you go up 1, but then you add 2 to 3 to make 5, add 3 - 5 to make 8 etc.) but then you count 10 as 0 and start over again. 8 + 4 = 12, drop the tens place = 2. |

But Disturbed, that relationship doesn't hold for 8532 and 28532. Raven's got it; these aren't numbers but rather strings of digits.

What is the ratio of the felt winds? Note: For example, what would the wind feel like if you stuck your hand out the window? |

Car A will feel a 70 MPH wind in their faces; Car B will feel a 20 MPH wind. So the ratio is 70/20 or 3.5. (edited by Heian-794 on 06-29-04 03:51 PM) |

Car is going against, which means the wind is going towards them, so the 50mph the car is moving + 20mph of wind = 70mph. Car B is going with the wind, so they will feel less wind... so 40mph - 20mph = 20mph of wind. The ratio is 70mph:20mph, or in reduced form, 7:2 |

If Y = Z.... 2Y > X Y - X < Z Z - X < Y 2Z > X But that's just substitution, I just assumed you meant Y = Z when you typed YZ. |
