Except for the original SMW most N-SPC games (which are most of Nintendo's) use nearly the same mappings. They only differ in some few specific commands like LoZ3's Finetune and Transpose (which don't fit at all when mapped in SMW)
First screenshots (of the editor) are to expect about tomorrow.

Have fun,
Blacky.

I hope this turns out well too. I'd like to use some SMB2 music in my hack.

@MajinBlueDragon: Thanks! I need any help available.

So here's the first screenshot:

You see a loaded (not yet editable) SMB3 song (namely the "Coin Heavens" Theme, or, the SMB3/SMAS sky world).

If you mean for getting in any existing samples, then I'm your man. If you want to compress wav's into brr format, I may also be able to assist with a few external tools...drop me a PM or IM and we can talk

So with this program you can only edit SMW music, and not put music from other games in? or can you only put music from other games in? or can you do both?

BTW is it possible to get N64 music into a SMW game? I really need to have the theme song from legend of Zelda.

Seeing as how the SNES is a lot older than the N64 and not as advanced, no.

What the hell gave you the idea you could put N64 music into SMW?

If you wanted to import an N64 Song into SMW, then you would have to manually rewrite the song yourself, and it won't sound exactly
the same (the quality of the song wouldn't be quite as good), but I'm sure you could get it to sound similar.

@MajinBlueDragon: I'll be PMing you.

@playstation3: As the others explained already, you can import from almost any mario game except for SMW itself. N64 music import could be possible, but I don't know which sound processor the N64 uses. If it is a sequencer like the SPC-700, at least approximative transformation would be possible. Otherwise, you could just write a remix on your own.

@Xkeeper: It's, as I already told playstation3, less a matter of the processor itself than of the sound coprocessor.

Yes, please do. I think the majority of the people could use it because most people
use Windows (and if they don't have the latest version of Direct X, well we all know that Direct X isn't
hard to find, so that wouldn't be a problem).

I say go for it (The more user friendly it is, the better).

Ack... my older DX engine won't init in an MFC window. I have the choice: either I make it fullscreen, which would be unnice when working on many things at once and delay the release heavily, or I leave it MFC-GDI, which would be a little unuserfriendly and unperformant, but still usable.

What shall I do?

Can't you download the newest version of DX?, if not, I would say to go with choice 2.
Edit: I'll grab the link for you if you need it for the newest version of Direct X.
Here it is if you need it:
Just use the 1st link at the bottom of the page (just out of the bottom 3, the links above those are older versions)
http://www.game-revolution.com/download/utilities/directx.htm

If you need to download DirectX 9, you can always just download from the Microsoft website.

Uhm, that "older" was kind of misprint... I mean, I developed the engine for years. It is DX8.

Did you try the link that says "Site 1" by it.
(this is where I downloaded Direct X 9.0b for my computer)

DX9 won't help. It wants a top level window, but I put all of my code into the client area class, and the top window isn't too easy to reach from there on. I think I'll first release a version without DirectX to save the ones who need it from further waiting, and then will aim for a DirectX port.

Have fun,
Blacky.
