Personally, I'd have to go with SMB DX. There's just so much crap to do.

Albums, VS, You Vs. Boo, SMBFSP [SMB 2j], Original, Original HardMode, Challenge, etc... and even a few advancements with it in graphics [animated water]

With the SMA series, you don't get much other than that stupid Mario Bros game over and over. Sure, there are a few 'advancements' [cough] and with SMA you get Ace coins and the Yoshi Eggs mode.

With SMA2 you don't get anything new, besides that nice little menu thing. Nifty, I guess.

WIth SMA3 you get 6 new levels; still not much, but I guess it's nifty.

With SMA4 you get absolutely nothing that isn't found in SMAS besides that stupid E-Reader crap, and possibly a small change to a few levels here and there to do the stupidest thing I've ever seen; make an easy level even easier. GAH.

Oh well. Hopefully this won't be taken as another stupid poll.

I'll agree with SMB DX... The SMA series was just "WOW SMAS WITH MARIO BROS!" (Well, some of the effects in SMB2 were cool, but that game didnt need to be made EASIER...)

I am a superbiosio fan of Yoshi's Island, and I will vote for nothing else. There is only on secret that I haven't figured out on it.

I have only played SMA4 so far, not so bad if you love the orginal game...

Funny is how I notice the changes, like one level have a diffrent backround.

SMA3 is the one I will get.

I've only PLAYED Mario Bros. 3...

Oh, wait, I HAVE played DX...

But still...I love the Replay feature, the new Levels (though I can't USE them, the IDEA is brilliant) and the fact that I can play MARIO BROS. 3 WHEREVER I WANT.

I like SMB3, and SMA4, so I'll say that. The new levels are a cool concept... although I can't play them either.

You get six new levels on Yoshi's Island. SIX. That's a whole new world. And you can actually PLAY them, unlike the E-Reader thing making it impossible for most of us.

Plus the port itself is top-notch.

Super Mario Bros. DX was very fun and all, but... it was horrible on GameBoy Color! The screens was so small, you couldn't see a damn thing! Often, you'd have to make leaps of faith if you didn't memorize the level completely, and where the holes and etc. were. It was a total pain in the ass to play. However, the extras and bonuses made it kind of worth it...

I voted for Super Mario Advance. I just really enjoyed seeing all of my favorite Mario characters playable, and it was a more than decent launch game for the console itself.

SMBDX 2-3 and 7-3 sucked ass. Those Cheep-Cheeps were cheap shots (no pun intended). I guess that's what happens when you have a playfield that's bigger than the viewport.

You forgot the new port: SMB was just ported to GBA for the NES classic series.

Best one though is SMB3's port, because of the ecards. Man, those add so much. And the game was the best of the NES Marios anyway

edit- Fyxe has a point though. For those who don't have ereaders, SMW2 may have had the best port. The 6 new levels were brilliant, in my opinion. It took forever to get 100% on the Wonderful World of Yoshis

second edit- fixed grammatical stuff

Did you try SMB DX on a GBA SP? I'm just wondering...

I'm going to buy SMA3, heck i'm going to buy that game as soon as possible. (in other words, as soon I have time... )

Kitten Yiffer, how would playing on a GBA help?

Anyway...

1: Porting SMB2j would be stupid [along with their SMB port, yuck]. THey've already done it.
2: I didn't include the SMB port because (duh!) I didn't know it was out yet.

3: WHAT IS SO GODDAMN SPECIAL ABOUT BEING ABLE TO ADD NEW LEVELS VIA CARDS?!? Let's see...

Game, that's about 30 bucks.
Card pack,t hat's about 5 bucks.
E Reader, that's about 30 bucks.

That's fricking 35 bucks for five or so new levels. I fail to see the reason behind this.

NOT TO MENION THAT YOU NEED ANOTHER GBA TO USE THEM.

Ahem.

I recently got Yoshi's Island for the GBA. Although Yoshi's Island is damn awesomed game, they did a better porting job with Mario Bros. 3, I'd say...

Only setback is that in order to play all the new stages you need an e-reader and the proper cards...The extra stages are built right into Yoshi's Island, you just need to earn them- which I haven't yet. And there aren't as many...
