So what is the worst game?

I have my idea... but I wanted to know your opinion.

If you think that the worst game of all times isn't one of these, then name it in your post!

ET. It almost single-handedly fucked over the video game industry. Not to mention it was a horrific game.

ET, of course. When you have to bury copies of the game out in the desert just to get rid of it, you KNOW it's bad.

ET was bad, yes, despite the vehement protests of my cousin.

But the worst game ever? No.

Indeed, the distinction of worst game ever goes to X-Men for NES. I gave it a 2 on GameFAQs, and looking back, it should've gotten the 1 I thought would only be reserved for Heroes of the Lance. Because HoTL, terrible as it is, is a better game than X-Men.

I dunno, I thought Mario is Missing did its job well enough. Everyone forgets that the game was targeted at 3-year-olds. And if you think 3-year-olds are good at games, consider the case of my cousin Alex, who repeatedly walked Samus off the ledge in Super Smash Bros.

In practice mode.

With the target standing right on the edge.

So yeah, while I don't doubt there are some very talented 3-year-olds out there, more would probably fall into the category I described.

On the other hand, no target audience can possibly glean any enjoyment from X-Men.

Mario is Missing was fine for youngsters. So it can't be the worst ever.

...There's MANY Atari games you can toss on that list. But I'll vote for ET even though they only had 6 weeks to make it.

ET did suck, alot. But it's not the worst game I've ever played. The worst game I've ever played has got to be...heck, I don't really know. I've played alot of bad games. I'll just vote Superman 64.

I'll vote for ET, never could get out of those holes, and had no idea what to do ( I now know you had to collect parts for your ship...in those holes.. ) and there was this guy following me the whole time ( A detective? ) It made me sad as a child to play that game. I didn't know any better, and kept popping it in anyway, knowing the frustration awaiting me.

WHY THE HELL IS PACMAN ON THE LIST?! THAT GAME IS GODLIKE!

Anyway, my vote goes for E.T. Played it on an emulator and good god, it's just as bad as they say. It's legendary bad.

I would say Mario's Time Machine (why study history at home, that's what school was always for,... or for catching up on sleep). A lot of people say ET, but I've never played it, so I can't really compare it, nor have I even owned an Atari.

Rise of the Robots. I play it now and it's so frigging hard, even on Easy. I remember when gaming magazines actually gave this a high rating.

Not the real Pac-Man, but the 2600 butch-fest of Pac-Man.

Due to Pac-Man's popularity, Atari made about 14 million carts. (which was more than the number of 2600 systems sold). It sold well for a few days, then the rumor about the absolute shit quality of the game got out, and it didn't sell much more.

So the remaining 10 million or so carts were buried together with ET.

It's worse than the other games because it's Pac-Man, and people expet Pac-Man to be good.

THIS is NOT Pac-Man!

My comment about ET basically stands here. Yeah, Daikatana was terrible, but not the worst game ever. And yes, I own a legal copy of the game.

How awful was that game? I'm gonna find a copy someday, just to try it out.

Talking about Daikatana...

(and don't come and say that it's old. Many people probably hadn't seen it before... )

Are you kidding? I LOVED that game. I'm still trying to find a good copy of the PS sequel...

As for the worst games, the only reason I'm not mentioning ET is because I never played it. And judging by what I've seen here, I'd really rather not...
