| Cara, that girl from FFV. Mainly because "Cara" can mean 2 things in Spanish: 1) Face 2) Expensive (female adjective)  Cloud is also pretty stupid, Wakka reminds me of Chewaka, from Star Wars, and Yuffie reminds me of a dog.  |

Yeah, Yuffie does remind me of a pet name . Wakka is a weird one. It kind of reminds me of the word walk or something..he's walka walking..or something  . When I first saw Clouds name in FF7 I started bursting out laughing. I kept on thinking of clouds in the sky. |

| As bad a name as "Butz" is, the English version's "Bartz" was worse, in my opinion. In fact, I generally hated every name in Square's official English translation of Five. I pronounce Yuffie as "YOO-fee". But if it's meant to be "YUFF-ee", that's a pretty stupid name. And I agree that Cecil should be "CEH-sl" and not "SEE-sil", even though I know of a few SEE-sils myself. (edited by Felix on 04-12-04 01:40 AM) |

| Actually Wakka is my favorite. It means "water"; specifically drinkable water, in Ainu (as in Japan's northernost city Wakkanai, 'river of pure water'). It's appropriate for the character and is only the second Ainu-culture reference I've ever seen in a Square game. (Which means it's trivia time: what's the other one? This one would be worth quite a few points!) |
