OK. I need more bands for the following categories: Metal (I know that some metal bands have been in Rock. This is probably because of the people who nominated them, not me.), Punk and Indie.
The follow categories will be CUT if there aren't pretty many more bands nominated: Pop, Trance/Dance/Garage and Rap/Hip-Hop.

I'm also thinking of cutting Grunge. Because seriously, we all know that Nirvana is gonna win

Okay, FINE.

* Jawbox (Indie)
* Girls Against Boys (Indie)

If Modest Mouse isn't in Indie (which I think someone else already said), PUT THEM IN DAMMIT.

(Hunh. I already nominated Fishbone?)

Talking Heads could easily go into either "pop" or "punk" categories...

I'm not letting this go. (:

I couldnt have said it better myself.

See that little post above you with the actually good bands, Karbei? Listen to some of those. Also: make sure you get some Opeth. They would make Slipknot sound like crap if they already didnt do that on their own.

*bows* Throw in System of a Down in there too.

And Nebetsu, don't forgot I told you of the greatness of Edguy.

Sadly though I still have yet to check out Dragonforce, even though I've heard they're better. (aren't they Speed Metal though?)

For me:
Metallica
Black Sabbath
Quiet Riot
Symphony X
Edguy
Megadeth
Faith No More
Led Zeppelin
Tool
APC

That's all I can think of ...

Well System Of The Down is like the only mainstream band that I kinda like... They arent the greatest, but they arent as bad as a lot of other crap out there.

I can literally only think of a few "current" bands that I like.

Tool, and Audioslave (which I missed on my list) come to mind, other than that I stick to old school.

Today the "big things" seem to be Nu Metal, Grundge (Grunge? I really could careless), and all those whiney punk rock bands and such, which I hate.

Remember kids, my opinion. =)

The Who. And please, as with Zeppelin, look at like all of their songs. Not just "Won't Get Fooled Again" or "Baba O' Riley"(both by The Who) or "Stairway to Heaven" and "Kashmir"(Led Zeppelin). I'm sorry, but those are my two favorite bands, and people often times base their opinions on those songs alone. Many different moods of their music are shown in a variety of distinct songs.
