Just a few things. First off...no gods, god-like characters (at least one very high-end characters will be necessary though), or trying to declare a different timeline is taking place other than what I'm laying out here. Second...please ask before posting, either by IM or PM. I'm thinking the more the merrier. I'd rather just control NPCs and such on this. I will say that there will be considerable odds to overcome.

First one in is the person this fellow is talking to. The current location is a fantasical world.

The place is a small city, the booth of a tavern. Many Men and Dwarves mingle about, gabbing about whatever. The night is young, and the season is late spring. Two women dance in a better lit area of the tavern to an irritating drinking song. There are a few other women in the bar aside bartenders, but the greater majority of the bar patrons are male.

Across from [ whomever is first in ] is a strange fellow. When afoot, he stand 4' 6" tall, and certainly doesn't look like he could weigh any more than 120 pounds, thanks to being a bit pumped up. He is dressed in heavy furs that fit closely to his figure. The furs are a dark grey with brown-ish and black patches. The headpiece to his outfit makes him oh-so-very conspicious...it's a wolf-like head, with fur of the same colour, except there is a midnight blue strip of fur running from the tip of the muzzle straight back the muzzle, across the center of the top of the head, and on down the center of the back.

His face is a bit older, probably early middle age. His hair is light brown, and notably shiny. The eyes are hazel and suggest that this man has seen much hardship. He slides a large envelope over to you...inside which is a sheet of good paper with very box-like handwriting:

Devonsbrooke. A port city, on the smallest of this world's four inhabitable landmasses. 3:30pm, local time, eleven days ago. City guardsmen would have changed post in ninety minutes. A man of short and thin stature ducked into an alley, and opened a customized bag of holding. One by one many similar figures in military uniforms quickly stepped out, dispersing in small chunks in different directions. A few of them had similar customized bags of holding, and repeated the process. After an hour, 25,000 of these fellows were in the Devonsbrooke. City guardsmen were tired and their relief were not geared yet when they struck. Devonsbrooke lost every man, woman, child and animal within a 40-minute stretch. They suffered sixteen casualties.

Rumour of Devonsbrooke falling had reached this city, but it had not been confirmed, or recounted as anything near this terrible. The man looks [ the person ] intently in the face.

"They have been on the move, heading in this direction for eleven days now, calling more of their own in, and fortifying every step of the way. Last I knew there were over 75,000 of them in the Devonsbrooke area, with plenty coming to take this city, Gloucetia. I know not how many ten-thousand strong they are, but it is too many."

Many know the Duke of Gloucetia has an army of 14,000 infantry and 1,000 cavalry. The man continues:

"I'm certain you're wondering why I'm talking to you about such matters, and not to the Duke. I could easily get an audience with him, but I speak to you on the subject since you have enough abilty that you may be able to, with the necessary help, strike them a hard blow, slow them down, and buy everyone else enough time to rally. You may be able to fell their commanders. But you will need help."

"I must respect this honesty which you are treating me to. It is true that you hardly know me, yet you sensed that which I keep hidden. You have very keen eyes, to have felt it and know it. I am not sure I will help... you must be the one to seek others, if I do. I do not know many people... I am never in one place long enough to do so. I am merely a stray traveler...." the man sighs, and is silent for a time. He ran his fingers through his gray silver hair. "All right, it is decided. I shall help. I do not wish people to die needlessly. And.." now, the mans plain brown eyes seemed to flare. There was ferocity in his gaze as he spoke. "If these invaders are anything of what I think they are, there is a debt I must repay, personally. You have my word, as Bit-Blade. I am sorry, but I cannot tell you my true name. Bit-Blade is all I can offer to you, friend. Now, tell me what we must do."

The fellow gets up.

"We have much to discuss. There is the road for that. My name is Ahzaz-Thraak. We should -- "

A very large, very strong man pushes the small figure to the ground. Ahzaz-Thraak gets up while the man taunts.

"Looks at this kid in here. Where the hell did you get this get-up, boy? Never seen the circus with this shit on."

Laughter erupts across the tavern. The little man is looking increasingly angry. Bit-Blade can sense a strong inner magic source within the little man...abnormally powerful. The big man kinda mockingly dances about in front of Ahzaz-Thraak. Looking him over, Bit-Blade notices the pommel of a sword hilt tucked in the folds of the furs on the little fellow's back. His left hand is slowly moving toward it.

Bit-Blade sees the situation deteriorating rapidly. The last thing they needed was trouble, or attracting mysterious attention to themselves. He steps in between the two.

"Foolard, you would pick on a mere child?" play along, I would not treat you so without good reason. And for Nazres sake, keep your head! I don't want the Federation on our heels. There was a strange gleam in Bit-Blade's eyes.... almost colorful. The man stared stupidly at him.

"I.." he began. "I think I've had too much to drink. Get this damn kid out of here before I do something stupid. We don't want any wierdos here. Damn..."

The two strangers quickly walk out of the bar before anything else untoward happens.

Ahzaz-Thraak gathers his weapons from the rack...a bastard sword over his shoulder, and a matching set of what looks damn near a samurai katanna and wakizsashi...there something...different looking about them. The two were a half-block off before the small man spoke again.

"Idiots. Times like that I wonder why I try to save other people."

He remains silent...leading Bit-Blade out of the city gates. Once out of earshot of the guards....

"There is much to discuss, and a long road ahead. Where should we begin? With me, or you?"

Bit-Blade shrugs.

"I fight with my blade, and with my magic. A lot of my magic..." Bit-Blade thinks for a moment. "Much of it depends on the Gehrdia. They are spirits... I ask of their aid and they willingly give it. You could think of this as summoning. I am linked to these spirits. They fight with me. My own magic... all of it lies within my blade. It is the practice of my people to do this. It makes our swords very strong, almost sentient. Because my elements are water and earth, so also are the powers of my blade. I can also draw magic from the earth... but I dislike this. It is like thievery. It is like taking without asking... but there are times when I need to do this. My spirits can not do all." From his careful speech, it was clear that Bit-Blade was not telling a great deal.

The path leads into a forest. The darkness increases a bit more with each passing step.

"I'm not going to step on the toes of tribal secrets if you don't want me to. I think you ought to know, though, that this world is being invaded by a different one. The enemy calls themselves the Sceck-Tor. They have a goal of cosmic conquest. That means, everything that exists, they want to conquer. How they go about this will take time to explain. What know you over interplanar gateways?"

Many lower hanging limbs are nearby.

*Snickers at the sight of the two approaching men*

???: (Whispering) Hehe, these fools are sure in the right place at the right time... I just hope that they have a good amount of money for all this trouble...

*The man shifts his weight a little on the branch, making a couple of leaves fall to the ground*

???: (Whispering) Just have to wait for the right moment...

Ahzaz-Thraak stops Bit-Blade with a simple hand gesture. His eyes dart about at the limbs over the road. He whispers softly, barely audible to normal ears.

There is always something in the air... The Silent Ones, you know. Wait... I see what you mean. Humph, ignore it. There is nothing this person can do to us. Just, ahh... act natural.

"I didn't know there was a forest so near by. Empty plains would have seemed better... it's strange, don't you think? But I have heard tales. There have been stories of creatures who plant forests where they are most needed.. hmm..."

*Fingering a dagger, he sees the two men right under him. He slowly nods and silently and sharpfully launches the blade, hilt facing down (!?) towards the ground. The dagger hits the ground with a bit of a thud, possibly to cause more confusion than fear. With that, in a crouched position, he positions himself on the branch and somewhat swiftly jumps off and aimed to land onto the one with the silverish hair color...*

Ahzaz-Thraak whirls about as the dagger hits the ground. His hands move back to his chest, then his arms fully extend, flat palmed, all in the blink of an eye. Two small bright blue sphere jet out of his hands into the attacker, knocking him ajar. Certainly not fatal...but chances are it'll be felt for a day or two. Blue-black strands of energy arc across the attacker for a few seconds after the energy shots struck. Ahzaz-Thraak grabs the attacker by the collar, pulling him/her to the knees.

"You should've known you botched things when a few leaves fell. But how silent you can move is impressive. You're coming with us."

"Bring him with us? Are you mad? What need do we have for one such as he?"

Ahzaz-Thraak shoots Bit-Blade a glare. "We can't take the chance that this fool might somehow tell my kind." At this, Bit-Blade levels a suspcious stare at the short man. He doesn't choose to make anything of it... so Azhaz-Thraak goes on. "We need the element of surprise as long as we can hold it. Besides which, this young fool almost had us fooled. His skills would be useful to what I have in mind."

Bit-Blade sighs. "I see. Then there is no choice." Without another word, he swiftly draws his sword and slashes fatally at the would-be theif.

Ahzaz-Thraak's eyes widen in shock. "You call me mad? Why did you just do that? It was needless!"

There was a calm look in Bit-Blade's eyes. It was almost grim.

"Calm yourself. The theif is unharmed. I have merely lent him a Gehrdia. This human has no magic at all. The Gehrdia will look after him. Anyone joining in this mission of ours would be doomed without magic. Look, the theif already stirs."

"Erm...yeah. My kind. Slick of me."

Ahzaz-Thraak takes a few nervous steps.

"So...yeah. I am of Sceck-Tor descent. To be precise, I am of the sub-race called the Tælon-Tor. We don't agree with the others on the idea of cosmic conquest, and are trying to stop it."

The thief seems to be in great surprise about the whole manner, but he has a prepared look upon his face. He notices one nervously steps forward, but with the feeling of peace behind that step, and he eases up.

???: Sheesh, you guys sure have some of that outdoor knowledge. I guess that you got me good and all... Though I wanna know before we start business... what is this... Geehitheria or whatever you called it? I'm a little... worried about it.

Bit-Blade gives the theif a srartled stare. He shouldn't have been able to hear that in that state.

"The Gehrdia. These are guardian spirits. I have lent you the services of one, as you lack any magic whatsoever. It will guide you, when you need it. Also, because this Gehrdia is mine, I will be able to find yo no matter where you go."

*Sweat starts to fall from the thief's forehead*

???: Oh boy, now you're creepin' me out with this magic stuff... Though, thanks for the word on such... Keeps me at ease a little, I guess. So, about this sub-race wanting some sort of causmic contest, what do you mean by all that? We just met... Speaking of such, people usually call me Rillard, the Lucky One!

Rillard was somewhat short, with was quite noticable in the dark. The hair of the thief was a dark color, but much else couldn't be known in this darkness.

Rillard: Now, about this part about quasic conmess?

Ahzaz-Thraak stands up straight.

"In case you didn't know, the city of Devonsbrook was sacked eleven days ago, leaving no one alive, including sailors, and animals. This was done by a race of people called the Sceck-Tor. They do not exist in this world. They come from a different plane of existence. They have come here to conquer the entire world, and erase any evidence of people other than them leaving here, except perhaps in the fossil record. It will not take them too long either, unless enough strong folks can come together and stop them. They do not simply wish to stop with this world; they want every world. They wish to conquer all that exists, destroying everyone and everything that is not Sceck-Tor.

"There are several different types of Sceck-Tor, one of which does not wish to conquer everything, but would rather co-exist, if not live peacefully. They are actively trying to end the world invasions and the cosmic conquest. They are the Tælon-Tor. I am one of those."

Rillard: Hmmm... sounds like you got a serious matta on your hands. I mean... since these Shcecko-Tor must have some kind of power strong enuff to do such. Well, it felt good when I did such a deed for a number of people before, and maybe... I'll do it again. You can count myself in! Ehhh... now where did I... drop my dagger? I mean, you guys were standing behind it, right?

From not far away a strong Baritone voice says "Well, that was quite informative. I think you're just the sort of people I need to join forces with. that is, of course, if you don't mind".

When everyone looks they see a white Kitsune step from behind a tree several yeards away. (Kitsune race: basically looks like a human but with fox-like ears and a long flowing tail. also long hair. all of which are white in this case. his skin is like a hunam's but is a bit paler) his clothing is a less bright white then his hair and seems to fit loosely with many folds. in the dark it is hard to see what else he carries but a quiver and bow on his back and the hilt of a sword at his side do stand out against his clothing enough to see. As he steps closer his eyes prove to be gold, and glow just slightly like a cat's eyes at night.

He walks silently. He was clearly masking his energy until now, but now that he is not, anyone with the ability to sense such things can sense a great deal of positive energy coming from him.

When he is within a few feet of Ahzaz-Thraak he bows and says "My name is Ace, Ace Nightrunner, and I offer to join you and your companions".
