Hey! I made a cool game! It's called "I poisoned half the food, so if you eat you might die!" Have a taco.

VGA is a really, really, really, REALLY old graphics system old computers used. I have a super VGA monitor around here somewhere... Anyway, what it means is that you can't load anything too complex with too many colors because the SNES can't handle it well of at all.

I think.

How in the hell did you manage that, unless you recompiled it or something...

I simply changed a string in a hex editor [we`ll say "Test" for example]...

"Test" to "eTst" resulted in an error... I thought it was a simple checksum, too Doing that should've kept it true... but... eh.

[shrugs] Most older keyboards [like mine] won't be able to handle 3 keys total much less THAT disaster

Edit: Holy shit, it worked. Wow. It wasn't even that hard. Just pushed them one at a time, managing to take forever for M+O+INS... oh well. It worked.

heh.

It's more of a hash function, as in 'more reliable than simply adding each byte together' to check file integrity. The hash routine had to be patched as well to prevent the "Unauthorized modification" message. Because of this, I doubt FuSoYa would approve of the patch being released. I can understand if he doesn't want any unofficial hacks running around.

Jesus christ Fu, why must you insist on torturing us like so? You need to find a way to make it so that once you've activated an egg once, you need not activate it ever again as it'll become an option in a menu...or something...

I agree.
Doesn't it get really annoying when you have to enter a bunch of Game Genie codes (on the actual consol) every time you want to play a game with codes (or even cheats that are built into the game).
Same situation here.

So basically from what I read is that this is just another high-tech ripping-inserting tool, right?

Uhm... When I hit Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F1 my screen flashed. Further attempts brought up the Task Manager, toggled caps lock, and made a lot of beeping. No dialog as of yet.
Fu, you are evil.

[edit] I wrote a VB program to do it. My keyboard lights go crazy, but nothing shows up.

[edit again] HOLY BLOODY HELL! PROMISE ME YOU'LL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!
So I realized my joystick could emulate keypresses. Great, I thought, I'll assign them all to one button. Sure, the dialog appeared - but it never stopped holding them! Everything was locked up and when I finally managed to switch to another window, it was typing some random crap over and over. After yanking out the joystick and keyboard, the terror was half over. Any time I pressed certain keys, it would type an assload of garbage. I had to reboot to fix this. Windoze did not like that, it hates rebooting. The Task Manager inexplicably lost its settings. StyleXP refused to apply a theme and for some reason decided now would be a good time to open the online help file. My desktop needed to be refreshed 4 times before it'd draw right. Icons were randomized. And now for no apparent reason... MY TASKBAR ICONS ARE BIG AND UGLY!

Fu, my computer hates you.

Para: You need to release that patch. You could always hack it so the checksum dealie thing still works, just that it uses whatever the new checksum is. And while you're at it maybe make shorter access keys for the other secrets, like one-letter ones.

I couldn't get the code to work at all, my keyboard never beeped at me (technically the computer), but the code just didn't work . Maybe my Keyboard doesn't beep when I press to many keys at once?

(I just bought my keyboard about 2 weeks ago, but I'm not sure how many keys can be pressed at the same time on newer keyboards, It's also made by Logitech, so it should work really well)

Please change the Code (and don't make us have to figure it out again).

Oooh, that's a really good idiotic idea I got a better one.

How about you let the programmer build his software the way he wants and if you don't like it, tough luck?

Personally, I like my idea better.

Well, I was eventually able to get the cheat working, Not really all that hard, I just forgot to open the Map16 Editor first.

Sadly though, When I tried to use the pixtosnes program, I hit a snag. It states files I'm trying to load aren't correct, Even when I converted them to the correct file types. Anyone have any work-around for this?

I love to hack levels for this game, But I hate trying to figure ExGraphics out. And I want to try and at least get all the graphics for Mario All Stars in my game.

Anyone have any ideas for this as well?

Thank you for your time.

Taking HyperHacker's advice, I've changed the internal hash to match the actual hash, rather than bypassing it completely. So there is still *some* protection.

Download the patch: http://parasyte.panicus.org/stuff/LunarMagic(m16-7k).ips (Right click, Save As...)
Apply the IPS to "Lunar Magic.exe" (Version 1.62, April 11, 2004) using Lunar IPS. (What else?!)

With the patch applied, the key combination to open the SNES tilemap import will be changed to Ctrl+Insert. Much easier to use!

As for simplifying the ways to access other hidden features ... stop being so lazy.

It didn't work, now Lunar Magic closes when you Left Click on the Main Level Editor window (I did patch it to LM 1.62 like you said), and the code itself (Ctrl+Insert) didn't work.

I have updated the patch. It must be applied to a fresh copy of Lunar Magic.exe.

All bow to the mighty Parasyte. (As in w00t, it worked.)
Sorry, Fu, but this is what happens when you use crazy button combos like that.

OK, i got the thing to come up, but has anyone gotten the pic2snes stuff to work? Everytime I try, it says its not a gif or no a pcx, when it is. Anybody have a clue as to how to make this thing work?

About The Pic2Snes Program, If you want to convert a pcx or gif to SNES format, you must write the pcx or gif extension big like so: PIC.PCX or PIC.GIF.
PIC stands for the name of your picture.
But when I do this, it says not a VGA 16 Color PCX file.

Does someone know how to do those VGA 16 coloe PCX files?
