Is there any (easy) way to upload a saved MySQL database (save as a .sql file) to another database, using phpMyAdmin or other content management systems? Thanks in advance. |

yes. go to PMA, then in the right panel, select the 'SQL' tab. where it says "or location of the textfile", use the button to select the .sql file, and submit it. may take a while if it's a large file (to upload and process). |

I had tried that, and saved the whole database as one .sql file, but it appears that there was a problem with PMA itself...would saving each row at a time help? Thanks anyway. |

If you have the original SQL file, you can go into it and manually put all the info back. Go to your PMA, and click the tab SQL. Then copy the SQL info in there, and click go or query or whatever the button is, and it should put it back. This could take a LONG time depending on how much info is in the SQL file |

if you use extended inserts reuploading to a new DB will cause it to break Read this and read that (edited by ErkDog on 06-03-04 09:08 PM) |

You should just be able to change stuff in config.php and save/reupload the SQL data via phpMyAdmin... I've done it before. (BTW Erk, when making a link with a URL that long, you should truncate some of it so there's no scrolling) |
