Erm... rom specifications, please? And emulator specifications as well? If you've been hacking whatever game you're hacking, there's a chance you accidently corrupted some palette bytes while hacking it. But seriously, it would help to know what roms specifically you have this problem with. |

I think he's talking about a graphic editor like TLP or YYChr. Anyway Dash... it's impossible for those graphic editors to take the proper palette data from the ROM. That would require nothing less than emulating the system to play that ROM (which is not something practical for a graphic editor to do). Either make due with jarbled colors or adjust the colors with the editor's palette until they resemble how the graphics look in game. |

OH! That! D'oh! Yea, sorry, the palettes aren't able to be edited in those utilities. If you want to change the colors of the palettes of things in the actual rom, then you need to find the palette bytes for certain tilesets or whatever in the rom... meaning you will have to do some searching. Corruption sometimes works, disassembling works too... Disch would know the best way to find that stuff probably EDIT: or DD, or Parasyte, or Weasel, or... etc. (edited by Kefka on 05-28-04 04:00 PM) |

I have the same problem. I think a palette viewer would be a good idea. | |||

Originally posted by hamtaro126 Yeah but TL is fine... Cycle through the palettes until, yeah, as explained earlier, they look how they are in the game. You can also save a state and open the rom then the state, so you can edit everything in the state. So instead of just looking for a Mario sprite for example, you can save the state when the sprite is on the screen and edit it from there. |
