I've heard about NES PC a long time ago... looks pretty interesting.

What console will be next to be changed into a PC?

An XBOX would be EASY, it's frickin huge and is pretty much already there.

A PS1 is too thin I think and so is a Genesis. A SNES could probably make one though, and a PS2.

Haha, when I thought of that, the first thing that came to mind was the XBox. In fact, the XBox basically is a computer, but not entirely...

Part of the reason it's the best console out there is that it is based on the most powerful hardware (or was, at its time). Toss in a HD as opposed to flash memory, and more RAM than a PS2, and you have a great console idea.

A friend and I planed on making a NES PC..we're still waiting for the motherboard he ordered to ship to his house. I doubt UPS will ever find his house.

Did he check the tracking number online?

Yeah... Xbox is basically a PC. According to Microsoft, it runs on the Windows NT 4 SP5 kernel...

Yeah. Of course, the Linux community (or at least a small number) found a way to put Linux on it. I've seriously thought about getting an Xbox only to run as a 24/7 Web server.

That is a good question! IF you have them still, I'll give you $10 for them! (if they work)

Why do you think I made the NES PC? (No, no working parts.)

I know. if I tried, I would put an iPod or portable Hard Drive in a Gameboy =D

I remember seeing someone on TechTV (on the screensavers i think) that build an NES PC or two... Let me search for it...

The first is the Screensavers Story, the second is the tutorial.

That's a waste of money... if your load isnt that heavy a PII/3 or Athlon machine for no more than $200 would be more than enough... then buy the X-Box for GAMES as it was MEANT to be. WHY waste a console that can play some good games?

Looks neat. But why do you have a sideways pic of what appears to be Zelda OoT's debug screen on your TV?
the NES isn't much smaller than a laptop...

You know, maybe you COULD make an NES into a Laptop. It would fold up in half (Where the colors meet), and the screen could be on the top half. Sounds very feasible.

But do not say an NES is smaller than a laptop
