Has anyone else got a painfully low framerate with it?

I decided to go back to 1.7.1 because of it, it was yeuch.

Well...I'll check it now...since I need to update...but I also read this:

After officially accouncing the release of VBA v1.7.2, Forgotten has included this in his post:

Also, as an important notice, I am no longer working on the VBA code and I have transitioned it to kxu, who will keep VBA updated and has already created a Linux GTK GUI for VBA. Please be patient with him in and remember that no emulator is perfect.

Why I am quitting VBA? I had to decide what to do and the emulator was taking too much time and effort from me, that I lost interest in it. I have family, work and other stuff to worry about and I think I've done my share of contribution to the emulation scene.

So, help kxu if you can, join the project if you know programming and can help VBA improve.

Forgotten == Done.

EDIT: Runs fine. Dunno what's up with your comp 'kins...but I have a feeling it doesn't like you.

I believe the new maintainer uploaded a new version of 1.7.2 which fixes that bug. Some code probably wasn't commented out. (I'm still running 1.7.1 so I can't check that, but that was what I read.)

But hey, if the new guy's smart enough to fix something like that, then the project's still in good shape.

I just hope the new guy can add link support

Actually I hope he can make it possible to see the movies.

I want to see Sonic X.

Also I want Iridion II to stop crashing. I can't even complete a level...

If he can figure out a way to add link support, then fine - but I'm not exactly expecting it.

Yeah, some of the GBA movies run... but crappy sound. No matter what settings I use.

I watched Sonic X 2 Days ago (On my Flashcard).

It's great done, but I hate it, that it's not compatible with the Game Boy Player.

I too get a much lower framerate in 1.7.2, as it happens.

Anyway, if you want to watch those videos carts in VBA, you should download the old version 1.1. It works fine. Not sure what they did to "break" that in recent releases, but there's an answer for now.

I don't recommend having your screen set to more than 1x zoom though, they look terrible. I guess this also why it says "Not Compatible With Gameboy Player" at the start, too, even though they WORK on it.

You won't see that for years...or at least in the online sense...you'd have to have a LARGE amount of bandwidth for it. I think I posted that in another thread about VBA...Forgotten put it down in his FAQ on his site.

No, it won't work on my Game Boy Player, it just locks up on the Not Compatible with Game Boy Player screen.

And of course it looks horbible, or do you try to get about an hour of Video on 32 Megs

It locks up? That's iiiiinteresting...

Anyway, no, I wasn't implying it should be of good quality, rather pointing out for anyone that expected it to be that it won't be.

Frankly, I'm impressed by what they've managed to do here.
