Then maybe we should at least revive that "all purpose" thread ... without the ACS, it should be less spammy than it sometimes was  Even Lost Threads by itself isn't a bad thing right now, it's not any worse (for spam) than the Craziness Domain we used to have in the old days, and having a hidden forum just adds a little something to the board ... it somewhat defeats its purpose to have it in the forum list (only for staff, but still, and I didn't do it), even though I get here faster from that link  As for posting new threads, I've never been good at this ... I barely had about 130 on the older board (that's one thread every 250 posts or something like that), and only 2 here (thread #1, and one about Big-Boards) ... I'm like that on other boards too And good newbies is definitely something we need ... and have needed for a long time ... we get some, but not enough, not all of them stay, and some of the rest gets banned |

| Well why sell ourselves short? Just revive the whole damned thing and see how it goes. I mean we don't know how it's gonna work unless we bring the whole thing about it back. And no one's throwing sticks at anyone over the ACS, in fact people are now kicking themselves in the ass because they even thought of taking it out because it was 'adding to spam'...well gee...anything can add to spam and apparently you can't get rid of lamers. | Wow, i just noticed that there isn't a good newbie in this board. Only if Kefka can be considered a newbie. Fyxe: You know me. You know that i tried, tried, tried, no one gave a damn, tried again, and then i figured out it was time to give up. EDIT: Look at acs.php. We used to have an average of 1000 posts per day. | So, what, you don't think there's enough posts? Here's a crazy idea... POST MORE! Yes, I did notice a bit more stupid people, spam, and other basic stupidity. There's a small flood of stupid people, nothing that can be helped, but they never last too long anyway. All the spam, stupid threads, etc is tied directly to this. Ride out the storm, and things should start getting less stupid. (Banning some of the really dumb ones might help too. )You also need to consider that it's almost June. People are busy cramming for/taking final exams, doing homework, etc. Not as much time for posting or hacking. |
