You can dismiss every other sport except Rugby League, the State of Origin to be exact. There is no better Rivalry between these 2 teams. With NSW winning in Golden Point time last night by a Shaun Timmins field goal, it evened up the tally of how many each team has won.

There has been 34 wins by Queensland and 34 wins by NSW and 2 draws.

I spit on your stupid American sports.

Hmm. I have no idea who either of them are, but there is nothing that can fill Boston jails faster than a good ole New York/Red Sox series at Fenway.

Don't remember anyone getting killed over Yankees/Bosox, though, Toxic. Someone got shot as a result of Giants/Dodgers, however. And Cubs/Cardinals is almost as bloodthirsty as ours... although the better one is Cubs/White Sox. Their fans won't acknowledge the existence of the other team.

Yeah, I'd say football (the real kind, not the American kind) has the most violent rivalries.
Let's see, Ajax and Feyenoord fans schedule meetings in Dutch fields so they can have street fights. Certain football matches in South America nearly always result in deaths of supporters, or at least heavy beatings. English and German supporters don't go well together during big tournaments. The list goes on and on.

There is no rivalry in international sport greater than a Test match against the Old Enemy.

I'm speaking of course, of The Ashes. Australia vs England. Cricket, mate.

Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators or the Montreal Canadians and Toronto. Classics.

I would say that White Sox fans are obsessed with the Cubs and can't stop thinking about them! They get more excited about a Cubs loss than a Sox win!

I guess it is a matter of perspective.
As a person who lives in New Jersey, the biggest rivalry to me is Yanks/Red Sox.
However, I wouldn't really say it is the greatest in the world...after all, we don't kill each other. But GO RED SOX!!

Other great rivalries include ManUtd/Arsenal.
Remember when the Arsenal players were harassing Van Nistelrooy when he missed a penalty kick. As Man U fan i got so mad; i was gonna knock all the Arsenal players out but anyway..
