OK, so after my playlist got messed up awhile back, I put my entire folder of music back onto my playlist. I got over 1000 songs on the list....which was wrong, because I don't have 800 files in my Kazaa folder.

Looking through the list, I had several doubles of songs, with no rhyme or reason to it.
Then again today, I load my playlist to find that it was fucked up. Anybody know what's up with it?

This is 2.91 by the way.

What do you mean, fucked up?
Your playlist should look something like this if you open it in notepad...

(first line)#EXTM3U
(second line)#EXTINF:252,AC-DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
(third line)AC-DC\AC DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.mp3

line 1 is a filetype ID
2 is the song length in seconds, then name from the ID3 tag
3 is the pathname. In this case, it's the AC-DC folder in the same root dir as the playlist. If you move the playlist and not the songs, or don't change the path of every song, it fucks up.

maybe you should redo your playlist from scratch and reload all your stuff again? I would assume you have written the data in the playlist came from the ID3 tags of the MP3 files?

OK, you bring up winamp, and the playlist editor.
When I loaded files onto it, there was more than one of certain songs. Like
520. Swingin' Utters - Twenty Three
521. Swingin' Utters - Twenty Three

Exact same song, but for whatever reason, it's on my playlist 2 times.

have you checked the source of those two items? check the ID3 tag of each file and then see if they are reading the same source. if they are, then winamp is i dunno. if they aren't, then well...you should know why

A bug in version 2.91, perhaps? I recommend upgrading to Winamp 5. If you like the 2.9x series, then try 2.95.

If the problem's still there, then try using a text editor as stated, or just clear the list and redo them all.

Meh, I weeded the doubles out, and later tonight I'll pick up 5.
