Teddylot: Egad! V.V I can't take this guy on. I need to get stronger somehow . . . You know what . . . I'll just pop by a waterfall or something. Announcer: But who's going to distract the monster? Teddylot: Oh, he'll just go terrorize those innocent bystanders out in the streets and some various buildings. Announcer: Gotcha. Cue Card of Points: NSNick -- Jagori -- Kirby All The Way -- Kefka -- 6 Points Felix -- 6 Points Emptyeye -- LostAuzzie -- 3 Points wolfman2000 -- 3 Points JJ64 -- 2 Points Geeogree -- 1 Point Ultimanium -- 1 Point neotransotaku -- 1 Point Cue Card of Shame: Jarukoth -- 0 Points Edsgravy0 -- 0 Points Xkeeper -- 0 Points ETG -- 0 Points Cue Card of Valiant Effort: Apple -- 0 Points Teddylot: *with a spotted back on a stick over his shoulder* I'm off to get stronger by a waterfall. Announcer: Don't be too long. Question 64: A pair of twins is how many people? Explain. |

Since this must be a trick question: Three. A pair of twins is three people when you're talking about triplets. If A, B, and C are all triplets, then A and B are a pair of twins and B and C are a pair of twins, making two pairs of twins with three people. |

Two people. Each person is one twin, so two of them is a pair of twins. (edited by Jagori on 06-21-04 08:27 PM) |

Announcer: And Jagori gets the correct answer. Cue Card of Points: NSNick -- Jagori -- Kirby All The Way -- Kefka -- 6 Points Felix -- 6 Points Emptyeye -- LostAuzzie -- 3 Points wolfman2000 -- 3 Points JJ64 -- 2 Points Geeogree -- 1 Point Ultimanium -- 1 Point neotransotaku -- 1 Point Cue Card of Shame: Jarukoth -- 0 Points Edsgravy0 -- 0 Points Xkeeper -- 0 Points ETG -- 0 Points Cue Card of Valiant Effort: Apple -- 0 Points Announcer: And with that, all of us here at MindTrap, the world's most favoritest game show ever, have some bad news, good news, and more good news. First, the bad news: Bad News: MindTrap will be going off of the air for a month to make room for some other show. I guess you could call this the end of season one, except the competitors and their scores will follow through to the next season. Good News: While we are away, the game show stage will be revamped to look like a robotic monster hadn't rampaged through it. Also, you can expect a new theme song, more funny scenarios, more bonus questions, and a whole much more. Teddylot will also return faster, stronger, and better than before thanks to his "waterfall training." Let's just hope he gets a bit less annoying. Therefore, he will finally be able to put an end to the robotic monster. More Good News: Not only that, but you also get six more bonus questions that you can answer even though we'll be off the air. When the next season starts up, those who have correctly answered the questions will get the points. Note, however, these questions will be much tougher than the ones given during the mainstream show, and the MindTrap crew won't be around to point you in the right direction. So, choose your answer wisely. (One answer per person per question.) Remember, you have a month to answer them. Announcer: Well, that's all the good news. Here's the follow up. Question 65: One day Gino and Gweedo had an insatiable craving for dandelion wine. They drove along the country roads stopping and picking the weeds where they could. At the end of the day, Gino had picked five bushels and Gweedo picked three. Next they stopped at Fanuchi's since he promised to bake them pizzas in exchange for 1/3 of the dandelions picked. Not sure of the fairest way to divide the eight bushels, they put them into 24 baskets, each keeping eight. In exchange for his eight baskets, Fanuchi made them eight pizzas. The problem started when Gino and Gweedo disagreed on how to divide the pizzas. Gino said he deserved more since he picked five bushels to Gweedo's three. Since they each have eight baskets of dandilions, how should the pizzas be divided? Question 66: Governor Gamble, who was looking for a very smart man to be his advisor, was down to the final three applicants. He told the three men that he had five hats; three white and two green. He explained that he was going to put one hat on each of their heads. The first man to correctly state the colour of his own hat, and explain how he arrived at the conclusion, would land the job. After the hats had been placed, the first man looked at the other two and said that he did not know the answer. The second man looked at the first and the third and said he didn't know the answer either. The third man, who was blind, correctly stated the colour of his hat and then went on to explain his reasoning. What colour was the blind man's hat and how did he know? Question 67: Shadow answered a call from the local university women's residence, regarding a suspected prowler. Accompanied by the Head Mistress, Shadow inspected every room in the residence. Concluding his inspection on the third floor, Shadow surmised that the suspect was probably on that floor and quite likely a friend of the girl in 3B. A few minutes later another officer found the intruder and confirmed Shadow's suspicion. What clue led Shadow to suspect the intruder to be on the third floor and quite likely a guest? Question 68: The bridge was covered with a fresh blanket of snow. Only one set of footprints led to the body lying in the middle of the bridge. Shadow knew from the one set of footprints that this was a suicide, yet he couldn't find any evidence of the weapon used. Shadow discovered powder burns on the dead woman's chest and a small chip out of the railing where the snow had been brushed away. The dead woman's footprints were all around this area. The only other clue was that 30 feet down, and directly below the chip of paint on the railing, was a hole in the ice. How did the woman manage to kill herself instantly and still dispose of the weapon? Question 69: Anna Gramm swerved as she skidded over the broken glass, blowing two of her tires. She stopped the car and suddenly her door was yanked openand a masked man demanded her cash. After taking her money he ran off into the woods. Seeing a gas station in the distance, Anna began to walk. She arrived to find Clyde fast asleep in his chair. She woke him and said; "Excuse me mister, but I've just been robbed and I have a couple of flat tires. Can you help me?" Clyde yawned and replied; "Lady, I just sell gas but my brother Jepp owns a service station just of the way." He got up and shuffled to the phone returning moments later to say Jepp was on his way with the new tire. They arrived at her car just as Jepp was installing the new tire Clyde had requested. Anna paid Jepp with her credit card and drove to the police station to have someone arrested for robbery. Who? Question 70: Shadow received a tip that the 'Holy Land' charter was about to be hijacked by one of the passengers on board. Shadow instructed airline security to delay the flight while he conducted his investigation. Since the passengers had already boarded, the airline decided to feed them lunch. Shadow read the passenger list and began his interviews. Among those questioned were two farmers from Ireland, a nun from New York, a minister from Canada, a Hindu priest, two artists from Japan, and a swedish businessman. After several minutes of interviewing, Shadow approached the stewardess and inquired about the lunch they were serving. "We're serving roast beef sandwhiches, and it's a good thing we did," she added. "Every passenger not only finished his lunch, but most asked for seconds." After questioning the pilots, Shadow announced his suspect. Who was it? Announcer: Don't forget to explain all your answers. And with that . . . I, on behalf of all of us here at MindTrap, remind you to "challenge the way you think." Goodnight all. |

68: She tied a rock to the gun, and hung the rock over the edge. She shot herself which made her let go of the gun, which got pulled over the railing by the rock, chipping the paint, then falling through the ice below. [edit] 67: The toilet seat in room 3B was up, and in an all-women's dorm no toilet seat would need to be left up. [edit 2] 66: The first man would only know his own color if the other two hats were green, so they must not have been. The same goes for the second man - he didn't see two green hats. The blind man knew that if his hat was green, then one of the other men could deduce his own hat's color as white because they both saw one green and one white. But since neither man spoke up, the blind man knew his hat was white. 70. He would suspect the Hindu Priest. Cows are sacred to Hindus, so no true Hindu would eat a roast beef sandwich unless he was plotting something. Bah, I worded that badly. Hopefully not badly enough that I fail to get credit. |

1)gino should get 13 pizzas and gweedo should get 11 pizzas, 2)the only way for all the men to have a fair test is if all men have white hats, 3)shadow was himself the suspected prowler, as the riddle says annswered... from the womens... residence. 4)the woman tied a weight to the gun via a long string tossed the weight and shot herself before the string pulled the gun. the weight broe through the ice and pulled the gun with it. 5)clyde never told jebb which car was the womans, so jebb must have been the masked man. 6) hinuds generally dont eat beef, as the cow is a sacred animal to them. so the hindu priest must be a fake. |

Teddylot: Hey there folks! I'm Teddylot and welcome back to the the second season of the bestest game show around . . . MindTrap!!! Announcer: If you are just now joining us, the point of this game is to answer the riddles that our MindTrap crew throw at you. The person to answer the most riddles by the end of the show recieves some sort of non-existant prize. We also have a very simplistic point system which I won't bother explaining to you. Teddylot: Thank you, Announcer! Last time you left us, I had gone off on a seasonal and scenic waterfall training to help put an end to the terrorizing computer menace and our friend the Announcer was left with clean-up duties. Announcer: *grumbles* Teddylot: But here we are. Everything is patched up and in working condition, our screens are back in business so we won't have any more use for the cue cards, and we have no more artificial intelligent computers running our control panel. Thank God for that. You have a lot to look forward to so let's get to it. Announcer: Before we went off of the air, we left the very intelligent key participants have a go at a series of six difficult questions which were quickly answered correctly in a matter of days-- Teddylot: *whispers* We took an outsiders look through an internet cafe. *winks* Announcer: Now . . . let's get to the answers and who got them right . . . or wrong. Answer 65: The fairest way is for Gino to take seven pizzas and Gweedo to take one. Gino picked 15 baskets and Gweedo picked nine. After dividing the 24 baskets evenly, Gino had given away seven and Gweedo had given away only one. Teddylot: From what we've seen . . . NSNick pulls the right answer out while ziratha is still trying to figure out how 13 and 11 make eight. Answer 66: The blind man's hat was white. He reasoned: "The first man obviously didn't see too green hats or else he would have immediately known his hat was white, since there are only two green hats. The second man then knew that the first did not see two green hats. Had the second man looked at me and saw a green hat, he would have been certain that his hat was white since the first man didn't see two hats. Because he didn't know for certain the colour of his hat, I can consequently deduce that the hat on my head is white. Announcer: Jagori runs away with the correct answer this time around and, once again, ziratha, well, everybody just point and laugh. Answer 67: Shadow noticed a toilet seat was left up (an unlikely state in a women's residence) and concluded a prowler would not stop to use the washroom, but an invited guest, like a boyfriend, would. Teddylot: Jagori takes another point for the night, and ziratha is 0 for 3. Answer 68: Shadow reasoned that the woman had a rope to which she secured a weight to one end and the gun to the other. She then dropped the weight over the bridge. When the woman shot herself, she automatically released the gun. As the weight fell it pulled the gun which hit the railing, causing the small chip mark. The movement of the rope and gun explain why the snow was brushed away from the railing. The hole in the ice was caused by the falling weight. Announcer: Jagori gets his third correct answer in a row, while ziratha, although he gets the answer semi-correct, misses the point by a few days. Answer 69: Clyde. Without seeing the car, he would not have known the size of the tire to order. Teddylot: Although some people may argue this answer, NSNick takes his second correct answer. Both Kirby ATW and ziratha have missed the question by a character. Answer 70: Shadow suspected the Hindu priest who was obviously dressed in disguise. Hindus hold the cow sacred and do not eat beef. Announcer: Ah . . . finally the last question. Anyway, Emptyeye pops in to claim the last point. Once again, ziratha walks in a bit too late and kornfan thinks a majority means everybody. Teddylot: And with that . . . here are the new scores on the new screen. Screen of Points: NSNick -- 20 points Jagori -- 18 points Kirby ATW -- 11 points Emptyeye -- 7 points Kefka -- 6 points Felix -- 6 points LostAuzzie -- 3 Points wolfman2000 -- 3 points JJ64 -- 2 points geeogree -- 1 point Ultimanium -- 1 point neotransotaku -- 1 point Screen of Shame: Jarukoth -- 0 points Edsgravy0 -- 0 points Xkeeper -- 0 points ETG -- 0 points kornfan -- 0 points Screen of Valiant Effort: Apple -- 0 points Teddylot: Well, you may be wondering whatever happened to the much talked about ziratha. Well, do to his, erm, poor-- Announcer: *cough*sucky*cough* Teddylot: --performance, we have a customized screen just for him. Screen of "Dude, I'd Wear a Paper Bag Over My Head if I Were You" ziratha -- -1 Points Teddylot: Now that that is taken care of . . . let's get back to the game. Question 71: Ben and Carl were in a 100 meter race. When Ben crossed the finish line, Carl was only at the 90 meter mark. Ben suggested they run another race. This time, Ben would start ten meters behind the starting line. All other things being equal, will Carl win, lose, or will it be a tie in the second race? Explain. Announcer: A nice easy one to get things started, eh? |

Unfortunately, Carl will lose again. Let's say the first race took 100 seconds. Using r = d/t, we see that: Ben's rate is 1 m/s (100m/100s), and Carl's rate is .9 m/s (90m/100s). So if Ben runs 110m at 1 m/s, he will finish in 110s. And it will take Carl 111.11s to finish his 100m (100m/.9m/s). |
