Question 58:

Barney Dribble was going on a one-way bus trip. He intended to ride for a certain distance, get off the bus, and walk back to town. If the bus travels at a rate of nine kilometers per hour and he was to walk back to town at a rate of three kilometers per hour, how far would he ride so that he'd be back in eight hours?

He has to travel 18 km out.

2 hours * 9 km by bus = 18

18 - ( 6 hours * 3 km by walking) = 0

Question 59:

The dead body of Karry Queen, the famous American romance novelist, lay slumped across his hotel room desk. His hand lay near an empty bottle of sleeping pills. A suicide note lay on the desk. "It's so strange," said the bellhop, "as I was carrying Mr. Queen's bags he was talking excitedly about being in England. As a matter of fact, he said this was the first time he had ever been out of the U.S., and he was planning to write his next novel with London as the setting." Shadow looked at the note. It read: I have lost my will to live. My work has received all the honour it deserves. My writing was the centre of my life, but in retrospect, I suppose they're just trashy novels. As the colour fades from my eyes, I can only hope for a better life in the next world.
"Based on this I'm sure Mr. Queen was murdered," declared Shadow. Why?

Announcer: Heh, the Queen is dead.

The British/European spelling of the word "Color" in the note reveals it wasn't a suicide letter.

Announcer: Gack! Where have you been?!

Teddylot: Don't worry about me? Worry about it!!!

Through the already shattered window came a a robotic like form. It had Doc Ock tentacles, and its body seemed to be made up of intertwined computer parts. At the very top of the figure was a large screen which, of course, played as the monster's face.

Announcer: TEDDYLOT! What have you done?

Teddylot: I've done nothing. I'll explain later just continue the show.

Corn on the cob? You peel it then cook it, then you eat the corn and throw away the cob.

[edit] Since when do you throw away the yolk in scrambled eggs? =\

Announcer: Would you mind telling me -- the audience -- what is going on?!

Teddylot: Well, it's quite simple really. We should've just gotten some non-artificial intelligized robots. Thanks to their abilities, they've been able to use their powers to build a human like robot destructo thingie.

Question 61:

Two of the fastest horsemen in the kingdom proposed to the king's daughter. The king didn't like either suitor, but he wanted to look fair so he suggested a horse race in which the winner would have his daughter's hand. The only catch was that the winner would be the person whose horse came in second. The king was certain the race would never take place because he felt that neither horseman would let the other win. Finally, the king's daughter made a suggestion to the two horsemen that would guarantee a fair race. What did she suggest?

Question 62:

A farmer in California owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has exactly 12 boughs and each bough has exactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?

Announcer: What do you mean "for a while".

Last I checked, biogenetics hadn't advanced to the point of allowing a pear tree to produce plums.

So the answer is 0. At least from that particular tree.

(I knew there was a trick...was just a matter of finding it).

Dee Septor, the famous magician, claimed to be able to throw a ping-pong ball so that it would go a short distance, come to a dead stop, and then reverse itself. He also added that he would not bounce the ball against any object or tie anything to it. How could he perform this feat?

Teddylot was smoothly dueling against the robotic monster with his flashlight of doom. However, when he heard Kirby's remark, the flashlight slipped from his hand and it landed facing in a way that the light met his body.

Teddylot: Dam, you made me kill myself! >.<

Announcer: Erm, no to all your comments, Kirb.

Robotic Monster: *onscreen* I win! HAHAHA!

Teddylot: But I will take away your ability to walk before I die. *picks up flashlight and swings the light through the robot's feet* . . .
