| Looks like to may be relased here after all, I was invited to apply for the FFXI Beta Testing prog, so I have... Hwy I've never played an MMORPG before so they're not going to say yes, but what the hell. By the looks of it, they were more concerned with PC stats too so it looks more likewly to be PC bound than anything. |

OK, wait, FFXI hasn't come out in Europe yet?  wtf? Why would they need beta testers for a game that's already been fully released? I mean, the only differences would be making new servers to accomadate those in other countries who don't speak English, and making servers for all Euro countries.  |

| In MMORPG's, I like playing with European players more than my native peeps. They're just all around more polite and not complete dickheads. :/ If it weren't for the distance of the server (and timezone) I would only play on Euro servers. And seperating it wouldn't be so bad. When companies do server reboots in the wee hours of the morning here, it's usually peak play time over there and messes everyone up. That, and server maintenance. "Why would they need beta testers for a game that's already been fully released?" They're not testing the game so much as they're testing to see if the servers will actually work. That is, see how much stress it can handle, or any other bugs in the database. They'll want it as smooth as possible before retail. |

| I can't see them separating Europe from the others. My guess is that your servers will obviously be separate due to the beta phase (tweaking/fixing translations and bugs/etc.) and then you'll all be merged in when the time comes. ...of course, you might need the second expansion pack by then. |

Any idea if they're going to add extra translation tools so that Spanish-speaking people can play with Germans and so on? (It sounds logical and I know PSO had that support but would they go the extra mile? Plus it would likely require another big patch for the Americans/Japanese, but that's not a first.  ) |
