He have only played the first one I think, and Link to the past. And he have finished neither. Most people say that Ocarina of time is the first one in the timeline. And then wind waker. (and majoras mask inbetween) Some people also say that Zelda I and Zelda II are the last ones in the timeline. |

How many Link's are there... Good question. At least 4: - Legend of Zelda + Adventure of Link - Link to the Past - Ocarina of Time + Majora's Mask - Wind Waker The GBC games are the wild cards though... Link just came back from defeating Ganon, so Link's Awakening either takes place after Legend of Zelda or Link to the Past. I *think* it's after the first one but don't quote me on that. I'm just guessing at 3 AM here. I think it's safe to put the Oracle games in the same category as well. So the original Link, in my opinion, appeared in 5 games. (6 if they keep it up with Minish Cap) |

Ok! Link of "Adventure of Link" is surely different from all other Links. Just take a look, he's a lot taller in "Adventure of Link" and more like a real human than in the other Zelda games. And "Link's Awakening" could be right after the "Wind Waker", a crash with his boat. |

I don't think that Link's awakening and Wind waker is related to each other. Somewhere there were this site which had a Zelda timeline. It had many plotholes but it seemed believable. |

Its best to just think over every game as a new world and a new Link. That what I do.

Impala - No since Adventure of Link *does* take place after Zelda. A few years later which explains Link's new look.

...Or maybe the fact that you're looking down on Link, and not seeing his full body height in the top down Zeldas Well, I'm definately looking forward to the new Zelda game... I really didn't like Wind Waker, because of the cartoon style. I do not specifically mean the cell shading, but I feel the hadling and the cutting edge of Ocarina was dulled for this game It just didn't feel right... Even though my head is looking forward to it... My heart is a little more reserved. Apart from games like GT3, GTA Vice City, Metroid Prime and Kingdom Hearts, I think the age of the classic game died with the 32 / 64 bit generation. I doubt we'll see the likes of Ocarina again. Decade long gestation periods are not financially viable at Nintendo anymore, and I doubt Miyamoto has as much hands on time either. He has to concentrate on teaching his art to new and bright tallent. In other news, however, Metroid Prime 2 is difficult to judge at this stage. I haven't seen enough material that shows us what will be new. Then again, the original didn't appeal to me in any way until I played it. One of the few games I would buy without reading reviews in the coming year, I think. Then there's the DS Metorid... Suffice to say it's reinstated my faith in Nintendo with armouring themselves against the impending PSP. The PSP will indeed be more powerful, but with killer apps like a 3d Metorid, I'll seriously consider buying the platform to play it on. |

Halo 2 Doom 3 Half-Life 2 *drool* Really, this kind of awesome is more than enough to really warrant a sort of spammy post. I mean, christ, Doom 3 looks like Heaven (or hell) on a system. Plus, I've got my lovely little Pinky Demon pewter figure to attest to my love for Doom. Halo 2. Don't be hating, now we can play as the Covenant, new weapons, new physics...Come on... Half-Life 2, anticipation because of MAD delays is the only reason I will cream my pants when I play this game. |

Kas: MP2 doesn't look that different from the original, true... but hopefully the Light/Dark World system checks out. Sounds a bit like SotN to me...

Not sure if I brought this up elsewhere, but I am seriously torqued about the new GCN Zelda. Honestly, I haven't been this excited over a Zelda game since OoT came out. Halo 2 eh...Makes me regret not getting an X-Box (again). |

Fuck Half Life 2. I want Serious Sam 2! Yeah baby! Doom 3 looks awesome, but all I want to know is whether or not the Cacodemon will be present.

Hmm... all talk of FPS's and no talk of Solid SNake's new foraym does that mean that ol' Dave is losing his appeal after the mad plotting of MGS2?

What really got me going is the new DDR modes for Extreme on PS2, and the announcement of Ultramix 2 for XBox. I think Konami is going to release a new arcade Mix, but they're going to announce it in Asia, where their fans are in highest concentration.

And there is no DDR for Gamecube. Oh well, PS2 can't be that expensive nowdays... Originally posted by JarukothIt does remind me, I didn't play OoT until a few days after I got it. I was so busy with a certain other game that I didn't bother with it... but I was stuck from the moment I did insert the Zelda cartdridge. And I also caught intrests in the other Zelda games. |

This is the word from Nintendo on E3: E3 happened last week, and it was BIG. Not only did we announce the DS, the dual-screened handheld gaming phenomenon, but also amazing new titles that will boot-up on your Game Boy Advance and GameCube systems for the next year, and more, were revealed in a cacophony of glitz and glamour! Games revealed included an all-new - in every way - Legend of Zelda for GameCube, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Advance Wars: Under Fire, and Star Fox, also for GameCube, alongside such notable Game Boy Advance titles as Mario Party Advance, Donkey Kong: King of Swing, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and Pok |

If one knows anything about Link's Awakening, one would know that it could not happen in the middle of Ocarina of Time, and also not in the middle of The Adventure of Link, which is another (oddly) common theory. Why? Because at the start of Link's Awakening, Link is on a SHIP, sometime after destroying Ganon. He is sailing back to Hyrule. Lightening strikes, he goes out cold, and then Link's Awakening occurs... Spoiler: And Link wakes up at the end, floating on what remains of his ship. Colleen had it right, except if you go in timeline order, A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening (which is it's sequel, after all) happened *before* the original Legend of Zelda. And Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask happened before A Link to the Past. In fact, The Adventure of Link is the last game in the timeline. I'm uncertain about Wind Waker, as I haven't yet beaten it. And the Oracle games could go anywhere, but they have a seperate Link themselves. Why? Because Link does not know Zelda in that game. If it was the same Link from LoZ, ALttP or OoT, he would know Zelda and Zelda would know him. It probably happens after A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening though; the Master Sword is found in the Lost Woods and the Triforce is intact. So, it goes... 1st Link Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask 2nd Link A Link to the Past Link's Awakening 3rd Link The Legend of Zelda The Adventure of Link With the Oracle games and their Link slotting in either after Link's Awakening (probably) or after The Adventure of Link (less likely). This is the most logical explaination of the timeline and according to quotes from the creators, it seems to be what they intended. EDIT: I have way too much free time. Wind waker is after Ocarina of time. Just watch the intro to Wind waker and you see. (the intro come either if you start a new file, or if you wait for awhile on the title screen) It mention Hero of time (Link in Ocarina of time duh), and that hero of time didn't return... and then Hyrule got flooded. So Wind waker is after Majoras mask. So with Wind waker the order would be... 1st Link Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask 2nd Link Wind Waker 3rd Link A Link to the Past Link's Awakening 4rd Link The Legend of Zelda The Adventure of Link There could be more links thought. I'm not sure about the GB games... And honestly, you hadn't finished it yet? Wind waker isn't that long. I finished it last year... maybe it's time for another round on that game again when I think on it... hehe (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 05-20-04 05:20 PM) |

I'm lazy, so no, I haven't finished it. And it never said Hero of Time, it just said the Hero (unless my memory is wrong...). Yes, I know it most likely comes after Ocarina of Time, for lots of other reasons, but I have to see the ending before I know for sure. I'll see it soon, there's no rush. |
