God it's so bloody UGLY< it looks like a 128-bit Game and watch. I like the sound of the gameplay innovations though, imagine casting spells with that Pen thingy in Zelda DS

The DS has slightly more processing power than the Nintendo 64 console released in 1996

Intresting... I don't expect ports of N64 games but it's still intresting.

At least it looks somewhat nice (I expected something uglier...). But I hope it works in practice...

This may cheer some Xbox Owners

Halo 2. Yawn Yawn Yawn.

More titbits I've heard...

Sega's big announcement has something to do with the PC, possibly of an "Online nature". Hmm.... I'm wondering, could it be a Sega TV type thing like they had for the Genesis/Megadrive in which you can subscribe and DL Sega games for a fixed fee?

Oh and SOnic Mega Collection Plus has been announced for the PS2.... Let the "Plus" part Be Sonic Cd..... PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!

THAT is old and stupid? Looks pretty tight to me. If you're sly enough, you might be able to play this during math class and fool the teacher into thinking it's a bigass calculator.

EDIT: also... well... you really can't go wrong with DS... allows for much more gameplay options.

...Why are you guys going "EW" over it? It looks fine. For some reason I see the touch screen being used in a PDA application though.

Wait to see what games they show - *IF* the demo unit's any indication, there's a new Mario Kart on the list. But that just might be a mockup.

EDIT: And didn't you notice the GBA compatibility (not a replacement my butt...) and wireless gaming features?

Heh, I also thought it looked fine. I was expecting worser, and it was better than I thought.

They said that it won't be a replacement for GBA and at the same time it's stated that it can take GBA carts.

That wireless thing already exists on GBA thought, as a accessory.

Intresting mock-up, they used the Yoshi level from MKD.

Edit: Touchscreen... I wonder how that will work.

More breaking news... Sony announced an immediate price drop for the PS2. It's now at $149.

Kitten Yiffer: With a stylus. One of those pens you use with PDA's.

$150, which isn''t bad for a PDA let alone a mega Game and Watch

AH forget the N-DS, the PSP sounds sweet.

Wipeout?!

Ridge Racer?! Put Tekken on there and It'll like going back to 1995!

Decided to watch the Nintendo press conference since Nintendo was kind enough to post a link. Highlights...

- The main GC titles seem to be Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Resident Evil 4 and Starfox (which didn't look that bad this time around - mix of action, adventure and shooting).
- Advance Wars: Under Fire seems to be more of a real-time strategy game - or perhaps an action game. It looked pretty nice although I had an Army Men vibe. But that should pass.
- The DS was heavily pushed - add in a built-in microphone and wi-fi capability to the list of features. They then showed demos of a Mario title and a Metroid title (which might have led to the loudest cheer of the press conference) that looked great. It basically looked like a portable Metroid Prime. And yes, they showed PDA stuff and interviews from a lot of developers. They're definitely serious about this baby. Release date should be before Christmas in NA/Japan, Q1 2005 in Europe/Australia.
- Finally, before the conference ended, they showed one more game... the new Zelda. Bye-bye cel shading. Definitely looked like a more "mature" Zelda title with lots of horse riding and realistic terrain. Miyamoto then came out to promote the title by wielding a sword and shield.

Ok, earlier today I heard about a "mature" Zelda as rumours but I thought they were false.

But there were nothing wrong with Cel-shading.

And Zelda always have been little cartoony actually.

It honestly would be very hard for me to picture a Zelda game rated anything higher than T... And especially hard to imagine one rated M or AO!

I think by mature, he meant more serious.

For it to be mature, or even teen, it would have to show blood, and all the more violent acts that are featured in other games.

...

He was grown up in OoT, as well. And I think he was grown up in Zelda 2... did he magically become young during all this time?

Yes but he have been quite young in the most games. I wonder if you could age the Diffrent links from the diffrent games.

It's gonna confuse alot of people now, people where expecting a cel shading Zelda. Miyamoto shows a "realistic" one. Something says me that Miyamoto wanted this as surpise, after all he announced that there would be a sequel but a cel-shaded one.

Mature Zelda? My dreams have come true!!!!!
Im a little disappointe in the lack of oinfo regarding Mario 128 though. But hope is not lost just yet. *crosses fingers*

On second thought the DS doesnt look that bad...the thing is that I saw a concept model in Game Informer magizine and it looked SOOOO much better.
