I say that the fucker should be beaten to within 1" of his life, then be allowed to fully recover, and beaten again. Your thoughts?

Why stop there?

Go to maybe 1 millimeter, and then strap him to a chair, and force him to watch the OJ Simpson trials, THEN beat him again.

Oh come now. I don't trust this. For one, I haven't heard of this virus. For two, FOX news is still FOX.

If you've never heard of this virus, I don't know where the hell you've been. It's almost as big as MSBLAST and still growing!

[explodes in laughter]

If you're on this board and you read threads...you would see there is a thread about this and that a lot of news sources are going livid about the worm.

So can we say this year's 'big disaster' is this...or do you think someone will try to top it before the year's end?

Well they're basically too lazy to have Windows Update go over their systems.

I remember trying Windows Update a few years ago on a school PC and it was WAY behind my PC update-wise.

Our school computers are the same way. The administrator even has My Documents locked from us. My brother tried to use Windows Update and it said the administrator has blocked this function.

I just think it's a shame that the Germans caught him... they don't have any good punishments in their laws for a POS like him.

Heck, in Germany, a life sentence means you'll be out of jail in 15 - 20 years usually.

The teenager told officials that his original intention was to create a virus called "Netsky A" that would combat the "Mydoom" (search) and "Bagle" (search) viruses, removing them from infected computers. In the course of that effort, he developed Sasser.

Netsky == Skynet

I feel a Terminator thing going on.

Colleen: If they had a proper firewall, he's saying, their networks wouldn't have been infected. It's cause fucked up dipshits set up their network(s).

Actually, the netsky virus and the sasser virus are very different. Netsky is an email worm (I get like 20 or more a day), and sasser is an msblast-like virus which doesn't require you to open an email attachment.

But he takes credit for both viruses, and he stated that he made them to make his mother's computer business popular

Yiffy Kitten - But even *IF* the firewall wasn't set up correctly, that Microsoft patch should have sealed the security hole, no?

You can't be too careful with security regardless. Keep everything up-to-date.

Why in the hell would you want to create a virus. It's stupid and idiotic, my computer class teacher is going to be teaching us how a virus is made -big no no- i conplained and told the princable and its no longer getting tought.
This kid must be stupid, i reckon anyone who is even thinking of creating a virus are idiots.
Even if you create a virus and don't get court you can still do damage to yourself and the everyday things you work with.
I am really starting to get sick of hearing about internet viruses and what-not

I'm actually fascinated about Virus, how they can spread over the net so fast. But they do cause alot of damage...

I never got the virus, nor the last one. I have Firewall and Anti-virus that was up to date, plus I downloaded the patch when I heard about it.

Surprising that the patch wasn't on Windows update when the virus was known...
