So... Who else keeps getting randomly disconnected from AIM? I got 3 people so far, including me. One in Texas, one in New York and one right here in Ontario, so I'm doubting it's limited to a certain area... (Even so, feel free to post what state/country you're in too. )

I was talking to a friend in Tempe, Arizona while I was in Phoenix, Arizona.
I got disconnected from him a few times. This time I can't connect.

Sucks Major Ass.

Then use Trillian to connect instead. Or GAIM.

It disconnected a few times for me up until 1:30 AM. Seems to be a server problem.

I go back and forth between AIM and trillian... just because i feel like it.
They both work just fine for me, until AIM just took a dump right on the fuckin floor just a few minutes ago...

I'm using Trillian. Tried GAIM, it sucked. (They all suck but Trillian seems to suck the least.) It's been doing this all week, it would seem.

I liked GAIM more than Trillian.

But I tend to use MSN, and then skip AIM. AIM is so annoying program. And it seems outdated, especially when the folder it lies in have the name AIM95...

Call me insane, but I've never really had a problem with AIM. No disconnects, except when I was actually using dial up (which was AOL).

You're brutally murdering AIM, not AOL.

I'm murdering AOL.

12 disconnects in the past hour, thanks

*old dial-up days memories comes up*

Yes, the days of a dying connection when the download only have 10 seconds left.

Funny is, I have the same ISP for my broadband now. And i'm fully content with my broadband.

I have nothing against AOL other than this disk (the 9999th once they've sent me) they just sent apparently has 1099 free hours on it. What the hell kinda fucked up number is that? 1099? Can you maybe add an extra hour to make it look professional? Maybe 1500 hours? 1090? Anything that doesn't look weird on paper? 1099, c'mon guys!

Oh well, they give me a contniuous supply of coasters and breakable frisbees to throw at the wall. As for AIM... I haven't used it in about a month...

I have a old Swedish AOL CD actually.

AOL tried to get into Sweden. But we had superior ISP's, so they failed of course.

On my other computer there was a "AOL programs" with the computer, and that was back in 1998 .

Considering W98 has "Online Services" on their install CD [Prodigy? Is that still even around?!]... of course.

AOL should jsut give up-- they're not doing well any more. It's only for idiots who don't know how to sign on to other internet shits and/or are too fucking stupid to realize the simplist things:

AOL: $29.99/mo
COX: $29.99/mo

[prices for Nevada, Las Vegas for Cox, I think.]

COX is high-speed cable. AOL is shitty dialup. Do the math.

Before you say "then y dont u use cox u lemr" it's because I'm not paying for it, they are, and they're too stupid to realize it, so shut up

I use Trillian, and a night doesn't go by without me being disconnected at some obsure hour.

But I'm never up, so it doesn't matter to me.

I use Cox. They're not the best by any means, but they're a lottt better than certain ISP's. Could be better, could be much worse.

And yep, this happens to me too.

AOL SUCKS IT'S A REVELATION!!!!!!

Hello? Were you all just introduced to the internet? Yeah, bullshit happens. Disconnections happen. A lot. You just get the fuck over it or sign off.
Let's all write a letter to AOL informing them of this chaos! I bet they'll be all "oh darnit, we hit the "act shitty" button! Ha! Ha!" and then they'll fix it and we can live happily ever after on a giant mushroom with uma thurman.

If AIM disconnects, use alternate means of communicationg, ranging from Phone, e-mail, ICQ, irc or just the PM System of Acmlm's.
