Anyone here have this game? If so, do you play it with friends or do you play it solo?

My friends don't have the required hardware to play it with me but we figured out that you can use a Wavebird. Only problem is you can't open up the menu. :/ Yeah, that's kind of important.

Anyway, the game itself is interesting. It gets kind of repetitive after awhile and I can imagine that would be solved by, yes, playing multiplayer. But for the first Square game on the Gamecube, it's not too shabby at all.

Thoughts?

I have it and I play it multiplayer with any of my friends that want to. I am currently in year 3 with 2 drops....I got bored of it after the third day of playing it....

I've played it two-player. Seemed pretty fun. Can't find two more people with GBA's and link cables, which is the game's first and foremost drawback. Sure, it's fun, but you have to adjust your schedule to play it to the point where you have to seriously evaluate if the game is worth it or not.

See, you guys are lucky. I could get another person to play but we could only play when we're both not busy and that would have to be on the weekend and such. :/

Oh, what I do like is going back through the same areas and fighting the bosses again so you can boost up your stats. I'm currently on Year 2 with 1 drop. Oh, and I chose Blacksmith too.

And what's with losing all your spell orbs once you leave?

I don't think it's out here in the UK yet... Wouldn't know anyways... But I am planning on getting a gamecube soon, and possibly CC...

One thing I want to get off my head though... On multiplayer, does one of the players have to carry around a magic bucket or something? I've heard that around .

Yeah, one's gotta lug the thing around... it's better either by yourself or with three or four people, then you can at least take shifts

I played alone at first because me and my brother only had one cable to connect to the gamecube. I was getting a little bored of it, but when we got another cable and we started to play two players, it got interesting again.

I find it to be a pretty good game. It's not really a very great game, but it's still pretty fun to play now and then.

yea most ff fans mock it because it isnt another turn based game with a BIG story.
But its a good game as long as you dont burn it at playing 72 hours straight replaying all lvls to get all the artifacts and a lot of items to sell..you wont get bored of it that fast.

I played it for a bit, but I didnt find it as amusing as the other FF's, this ones just too different, the Multiplayer was a good idea, but its the stupidest idea to need to use a GBA, controllers would have been the better choice.

i have crystal chronicles, it's a great game to play with other people. i only play it once in a while with my brothers though. this game is only fun to play with others, because of all the fun of cooperation (or not)

as a single player game though, it sucks.

Hehe, My sister have an GBA and I have an GBA SP. And we also have an gamecube.

I'm so getting this game!

And the fact that my sister wants an GBA SP, then maybe we even could play 3 player.

Hopefully my hands won't hurt after hours of playing.

What you do is have someone carry the chalice and when there is combat, you drop it!

Yeah, very simple isn't it?

How large range does it have? I think it was made for so two players couldn't go to two diffrent ares. That's the only reason I can think of.

Yeah, I know there is this gas. But somethings they make the gameplays first. Then the story around it.

The range isn't the big, but since there aren't many ranged enemies, this is better for strong characters. When there are magic casters, you can just whip out a powerful Yuke or something and f-up your enemies.

For items, zenny, and likes...You alternate each level. Or base it on what your bonus multiplier is.

I work at gamestop, and therefore saw this game for what it was, i.e. another extension of Nintendo's (and, lately, Square/Enix's) intertwined good and bad qualities.

I'm just one man with one imbecilic opinion, but the way I see it, things break down like this. Nintendo has a commitment to producing really good, deep, intricate games, and simultaneously executing horrible, insidious marketing scams on little innocent children. "Mommy, I can't play Crystal Chronicles with my REGULAR game boy advance, which cost you one hundred US dollars, I need the all-new upgraded Game Boy Advance SP Trademark Copyright Registered Infringement Protection Lawyer Death!" (Don't get me wrong, I like GBA, and I dig my SP).

Bottom line, I enjoyed crystal chronicles, even though I didn't play it nearly to the extent that Maxtwo did (props, dude). Once you hit up a dungeon for the third or fourth time, things get pants-pissingly frantic, which is something the revewiers of the game didn't play far enought to experience, which hurt the game in the polls. The bucket is not hard to manage, in fact, the carrier basically gets to act as the leader of the party. The teamwork aspect is well worked out (spell fusion, etc.) and requires constant communication, like great co-op games should (Halo, anyone?). However, I felt dirty while playing it endlessly because I knew in my heart that the whole project was half cooked-up by Nintendo in a shameless effort to sell more Game Boys. Bad marketing department! No annual bonus!

I'm stupid.

I just NOW figured out that you can fuse magic together to get better spells. I found Holy and Gravity last night. That and higher levels of Blizzard, Fire, etc...

I was wondering how you got those spells. XD This reminds me of the time that I figured out that you could junction magic to your stats in FF VIII....the second time through.
