Aww, I'm not in there?  Haha, watch 1000 people come in here and say "OMFG PUT ME IN TERE RITE NOW!!!!!!!111111111111" Now, getting to the topic, I believe that I can not say it any better than everyone else who's added their 3 and a half cents. I'd add more input, but everyone has summed it up so well, it'd just be repitition. Anyway, when I first came here, I was just a newbie (I even had a crappy post bg that made text hard to read. Compare that with now. ). I thought it was very fun here, everyone was so nice, and this was back after the board was converted from using data files to mysql. Later, I saw a lot, posts being deleted, Ninja AE, stuff like that, but that was rare, especially compared now. Then we got IRC, and it was fun. Chatting in realtime. So then the board gets more popular, which means more users, which also means more idiots know about the place. From there, it just goes downhill, to put it bluntly. I'm trying to be optimistic about it, but it's just a reoccuring thought in my mind that says "the board's going to die soon, where will I go after it closes?" Losing the board will leave this empty feeling in me, because I'd be losing the friends I've met here. But I'm digressing.I know the board's declining, I just wish I knew what it was, and I also wish it would just get better. Get Better!! Oh well. We can only hope that it somehow miraculously picks up some day. But I never thought I'd get to see the decline of a community. That isn't something to behold, by the way. |

THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD (attacking me, pretty much, about the "lamer-banning, all the OMG LAMER threads in the Display Case, etc.") has been ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED. Anyone who has/had ANY reason to argue on Xkeeper's behalf is, therefore, fucking wrong because I proved him wrong. Now, if they want to start another point, that's fine, but I proved that Xkeeper is not just a moron (which we already knew) but also a hypocryte. I hate it when people get in my hair about shit and not only can't back their statements up, but are nothing other than contradictory in their nature. | Ironically, I originally left my staff position largely because of an altercation involving Legion, when it was him vs. staff. True story. Anyway, as Yiffy Kitten pointed out, the problem is hard to pin down. But it's much harder to dismiss it just because we can't find the source. There's been some lighthearted fun, but if you go back to the beginning of this thread, you'll notice that many people, some influential, some not, have noted that there's something wrong with the board; a vague problem that makes it less enjoyable and much less comfortable. I used to have fun here. Everyone did. Why? I don't know. I'm willing to bet that I've changed more than the board has. But... the most probable (and irreversible) change, which I think is the root of the problem, is that the user base has shifted. This can't be blamed on anyone. Almost all of the "oldbies" are inactive postwise... Legion and YD are exceptions. Most of the people who were around in the "good old days" if you want to call them that are either inactive, missing completely, or extremely bitter. The "average user" was different. Obviously when the board starts changing it starts attracting a different kind of user, which changes the board more, and so on. There isn't any way to return to how the board was, and I don't think we could emulate it either. If there was a way, it would probably involve the return of at least one of the following (I know it seems like an odd mix.): -Shroomy -Mesia -Skydude -Ephrion -Witeasprinwow Is that going to happen? No. Even if it did, it would cause a huge backlash. The board is different now, and I don't think it's ever going to go back. I don't care. But I know a lot of people do. So I guess I came here to water down your hopes with my cries of hopelessness. But all I know is that I used to have fun here and I don't anymore, and those are my thoughts on why. Boo hoo hoo. | I try to keep my bitterness down. It is somewhat hard, as most of my friends on the board are gone, or inactive, etc. I've come to accept the changes on the board. Doesn't mean I have to like them, but I acknowledge it is not the same as it was 2 1/2 years ago. | |||

I say what we should do given the recent tone of this thread is get a large pit, fill it full of baked beans, custard or mud, get XKeeper and Yiffy Kitten to wrestle in it and charge the female members of Acmlm to watch the events, and then, with the proceeds we'll pay for a huge Acmlmstaff "Team Building" paintballing session  Oh and I'm not on the piccy either, but I don't think I'm influential enough What can we do to improve thigs?
