| Yeah ... the current version isn't a total rewrite or anything like that, but it still got several changes that affected most of the files ... for example: - config.php, layout.php and function.php (and a few more) are now in a "lib" directory - the table/cell/etc. variables in layout.php are defined a bit differently (so the way they're used changed a bit), and there's some CSS as well - thread layouts are in separate files, like color schemes ... threads are rendered differently because of that (load the thread layout file, call functions in threadpost.php) - posts and private messages got split into 2 tables ... one for the text fields alone, and another for the rest - post layouts are stored separately from the posts - new previewing of posts, private messages and announcements - more little changes all over the board So yep, any custom code for version 1.8 would probably have to be rewritten, or at least changed, but it's certainly possible  1.8 is still the last available version for now (it's been 2 years  ), the previous one before that was 1.65 (although there's a few rare copies of 1.7 around) ...The oldest version I still have is 0.7, but I also got 0.85 and 1.2 ... possibly 1.0 or 1.1 too, but I'm not too sure  Anything below 1.0 was before 01-22-01 when the board wasn't even open, 1.1 fixed a bug that caused users to disappear (yep  ), and 1.2 added the Photo Album ... then came 1.5 with the switch from file storage to MySQL, and from there it was just various changes, improvements and additions ... didn't really keep track of them |

| The "daily colors" theme was a change, it wasn't there from the beginning. The main theme used to always be blue at one point. Schemes was added somewhat later, probably in 2002. The top links part was slightly changed over the years. Polls were added probably in 2002-2003. And lots of more tiny changes here and there... |

| This board is unique, their really is no need for someone to copy it and make another one with slite changes. Acmlm put his time and effort into making this board, if someone wants to make a board like this, do it from scratch make it yourself. I have wanted a board of my own for so long, but i am learning and making it myself... should be up and running in the next centery |

| that's a silly statement.... all boards are unique in their own way... but peopel still choose them to run their own website.... alot more makes a message board than just it's code behind it... like the users..... this is a great forum package, and consequently it should be shared IMO |
