oh, fair enough... wasn't sure how good of a deal it was

oh, and just so people know.... I think all you need is like 6 or 7 people to start a religion...

it does have to be "legitimate" but you can start one.... and get the benefits of having one and being the leader

And what guidelines are there in American law that decide what is and isn't "legtimate" religion?

You have to have so many members to gain tax exempt status.

I'm not really sure what sort of guidelines there are

but I doubt there are many.... probably some sort of regular meeting with a majority of the members or something like that.... nothing significant

I believe in eating food. My church of eating food is worldwide. I have over 6 billion members. I should not have to pay taxes.

Scientology isn't a religion based on Science (actually that would be the exact opposite of a religion). Scientology is a cult founded by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. They believe in reincarnation, as well as well aliens, and consider psychiatry and antidepresants barbaric and damaging.

I believe in Awesomology.

It is centred on how much more fucking awesome I am than everyone else. Because in order to be sub-awesome you must subconciously realize my fucking awesomeness I have about 1.2 million members (the total amount of people able to be called awesome on Earth). I have more members than Zorastrianism.

Ah, I missed that post, I started skimming after it devolved to "I have a point", "What is your point?", "Randon senseless words", "That didn't make any sense", "Yeah, that didn't make any sense", "Yeah, that really didn't make any sense" etc, etc....

I can understand your point. We don't generally get people as intelligent as the original poster, and you thought the whole thread was like that. Just don't skim the pages next time.

Now, on topic: Scientology; The Religeon More Unbelieveable Than Christianity.

see now.... if I had said something similar to that.... say "Scientology: almost as absurd as homosexuality", I would have been attacked like crazy...

but that's okay! I do know that life isn't fair

Religion is a choice.

Sexuality is not.

That's the difference.

And we wouldn't attack you for that. We'd attack you for proof, then make fun of you for failing :o

You don't get to say that, as you started this retarded thread in the first place. Sucking up when you're clearly beaten doesn't exactly help your case.

I don't really see what the big deal is with Scientology. If people want to follow it, I say go right ahead. I mean it may be a cult but as far I know, they have yet to commit any mass sucides, so they're still ahead of alot of other cults. Sure its a bit out there, and the leaders might be taking advanage of the members, but really the same can be said for the LDS and Roman Catholic church.
