I think they were for Japan only. For the BS Satallaview, or something similar. A satalite service for hotels and what-not that you could download these games to the hotel tv's and play them, for a fee. I don't know if they ever physically existed as cartridges, just 'downloaded' so to speak and played. So many great games too, to this day, I have a blast playing through the BS games.

I'm probably wrong about alot of my info, but it's what I remember of it off the top - O - me head.

Most of the games weren't that great, and were just remakes/slightly edited versions of other snes games.

Stuff like BS F-Zero 2, and Radical Dreamers, were unique, and would be worth downloading.

Gotta love those Bull-Shit ROMS!

Actually, Chickenlump is right. With the Bandai Satellaview (BS) add-on to your Super Famicom, you could download cool things specificly made for BS users. Kirby Baseball is quite fun, as well as the remakes and edited pre-existing SNES games. Unfortunately, not ALL of the BS games have been tracked down and made into ROMS, a lot of them exist that were never able to be archived this way... Until someone out there finds a person who downloaded it before the BS service had ended.

And never deleted the game from their system?

I liked the Excitebike games myself. But some were really weird - like Mario USA (SMB2) roms that only included one level?

BS Zelda is a FUN game..uh. But yeah. Impossible to play via console unless you have a backup device (whcih I assume are just as hard to obtain as an actual BSX )

What are the names of those games?

Isn't BS Zelda without link? And there is this BS mascot instead?

the reason is, they aren't cracked. BS Zelda was hacked to DEATH before it worked. First the sound was disabled, then only some levels were there...alot of the games are direct dumps and not cracked so well

Kitten Yiffer: yeah, it didn't have Link but, the crackers put him back in. Better than the other kid with the baseball hat

Yeah, I never quite understood that...

Zelda Classic has a BS Zelda tileset, so if you want to see how the full game would look...

But you can see hwo the full game looks, it's been hacked to completion But if you feel the need to go the zelda classic way, get VEL's BS Zelda remake, it's as close to a clone of it as you can get.

That's true, I forgot about that.

A lot of the obscure BS dumps don't work, true... Plus there's some where you have to wait 3-4 minutes before the game loads. No idea how that happened if it's a clean dump.

the best dump I have sometimes freezes when you make a new character, just reset and choose the newly created file and it works fine I have a site, that's got tons of good BS Zelda dumps all over it. Actualy the place where I got the dump used for my BSZ hack (sometime last year, may restart it some time *shrugs*)

Maybe it's thinking that it is downloading?

Some Famicom disk system games acts like they were on a floppy in the emulator.

They all do. Just fast-forward through the loading.

Some Spectrum emulator force you to wait several minutes while the game loads as well.

The waiting is rumored that you could wait for other people to play (sorta like netplay with your SNES)... Or at least I'd like it to be ;D I can't really remember where I heard it, but I do remember hearing it from someone =-o

Even when you FF it still takes a minute or two...

...which is why I always make a save state after the game loads. Don't need to be sitting through that again.

A few of those games couldn't have netplay...

That may be the problem, have to wait.

I had problems with Mario's Excite Bike for example.
Yossi no Panepon, Super Famicom Wars and Dynamite Tracer work without problem.

I don't recall Dr. Mario working, and the Super Mario USA and Super Mario Bros. 3 Worlds didn't work.
