| OOC: Alright, I've never done a random open battle before, but I'm pretty bored.If you've been following my adventures in the SF, you should know who this guy is. If not, that's too bad for you. Give it your best! The information in this battle will be kinda essential for a plotline I plan on starting in the future, but it doesn't necessarily have to include whomever chooses to challenge me. Mexico. The middle of an ancient Aztec ruin. It is here that he stands, guarding a certain someone from making a visit. A piece of it is here. He is naught but a visitor to this timeline, unwanted, unwilling, but necessary nonetheless. Several pieces of interesting information have surfaced, one of them being primarily about the Master Emerald. It is this information that brings the man to this place. Of pieces, naturally, the Master Emerald is especially important. One of them is here. Long ago, it was used to save the world on multiple occasions. Great heroes used it and the power of Chaos to bring order and peace to a world ravaged by an insane villain. They have long since faded into obscurity. But the man knows that the power of Chaos is resurfacing. He knows it because it has corrupted his world, and because it was what threw him into this one. He knows it because the Chaos is manifesting itself. Janus... He has already begun to search for that power, thinking it will somehow help him. What a fool he is. Chaos can only lead to destruction... It is for that reason that this man waits for him. This man, known only to the world as "Evan"... So, he waits. He watches, he makes sure that Janus will never get his hands on that piece. But today, his duty is disturbed by a rather unwanted visitor. Who could it be? |

| Out walking in plain sight towards him, someone very calm steps forward. There is an odd silence about her, as all that is seen is a smile. The smile changes to a frown though as she passes the person. She can detect the uneasiness of the person, and his anger. Shen: "Why do you cling to life so strongly?" Now next to the person, Shen just turns her head and looks at him. Although the straw hat would block any contact of sight, the person can feel that she's looking at him. Shen: "I can sense your pain. You are not from this world are you?" The gave that the person was feeling changed quickly, and became more of an intrusion of the mind. |

| Evan raised his head... Evan: "Hm? Who're you..." He snapped to attention, wondering. Could this be it? Is this the day? Does he have to wait any longer until he needs to defend this place? "Come to take the shards, have you? Just a girl, but I bet you're with him!" His mind shouted of fear, paranoia, and echoes of a destroyed, desolate world where Chaos reigned supreme. He started, and a rush of energy surrounded him, mixing Chaos, Fire, Ice, Lightning, energies from across the voids and planes circulated through his body, both ancient and new... He was a force that did not agree with this world. Even one such as Shen would have trouble contemplating his spirit in its true form. "Speak! I won't be so easily disturbed!" |

| Shen just stayed silent. Her mind was at peace and calm, she was more worried about the sudden out burst of this guy. She did know about the shards and that is why she did come here. Shen's frown changed to a questioning one. Shen: "I did come to the shards." Shen really couldn't tell what was going to happen next, it could be an incredibly short battle depending on how strong this guy is. Although... it could be a long one if he was stronger than her, she wouldn't be able to manipulate his soul energy and would have to play a tactical game. Shen: "Are you going to stop me from finding them?" Shen was completely ignorant of what Evan was thinking, only that he was worked up over something that she couldn't comprehend. Her thoughts turned to avoiding the battle. She could just run, or just bind him here for a bit and try and get what she needed. There really wasn't a reason to fight someone this unbalanced... |

| Evan: "So, you're with Janus, are you? One of his cronies, like the mechanical monster Dracoon or that fucker Kalar or that bitch Nijote? Huh? Come on! I'll tear you to shreds if you are, I swear it! There's no way I'm gonna let you guys rip this world apart!" He stepped toward her, his muscles bulging and his body raising to its full height. He was a tank of a man, clad entirely in thick leather and an enshrouding cape... Clearly a man who hated making his presence obvious, but impassioned by some unknown drive, a need to protect, to secure... But what? |

| Although Evan couldn't see it, Shen's eyes opened up wide as she reached into herself to gain control of her soul's energy. Shen: "Dracoon? Nijote? Kalar?" Shen actually looked up at Evan, her face still hidden. She made herself start to reach out with her soul. Shen: "I'm unfamilier with these names. I need the shards to help someone. Let me by." Shen started to walk forward, hiding all forms of her power, yet getting ready to strike out at Evan if he tried to attack. Shen: "I'm sorry I can't abide by your rules." |

| Evan: "I don't think you understand..." Her soul reached out to him, but Evan's was one of need and necessity: It was of another time, another story. He didn't want to hurt her. He knew he didn't, he didn't want anyone to suffer, but he could not just let her pass. Nobody, nobody was allowed to have this one. It would someday be the last piece of the puzzle. He dared not touch it, he dared not move it or use its power, for fear of the Chaos corrupting him, twisting his soul in ways it had yet to experience. Nobody could. He'd sit and guard it, like the heroes of the past did so long ago... "Even if you're not with them, I can't let you have it. You can't help anyone with this. | Shen: "I told you. I can't comply." Shen kept walking forward. She stated it blankly, ending all discussion of her stopping behind. Shen: "Even if you try and force me to leave, I can't simply leave. However you need it, you should have already used it. This power is not yours, and it is not yours to govern." Shen was about ten steps past Evan now. |

| Evan: "This isn't..." He gritted his teeth. Was it really the only way to get her out? "I don't want it to be used! That's the point!!!!" Evan's body was nothing but a blur as he appeared a few meters in front of Shen, pushing his palm forward and extending a wall of Void force at at her, meant to push her back and get her the hell away from the entrance to the ruins. This was not going to be easy. |

| Shen put her hand in front of her, and the void energy was met by a thin wall of soul energy. The soul energy kept the void energy back easily. Shen: "Void energy...?" Shen pushed forward, a small part of the wall collapsing in so she could get through. Her other hand instantly contained a small ball of soul energy. Shen: "I told you. I must get through." |

| Evan: "Time out. Stop. This is going nowhere." Upon seeing the ease at which she stopped him, he decided to try another tactic. He walked toward her, laid his hand on her shoulder, and tried lightly to keep her from moving forward. As he did so, he began to speak. "Ok, what do you need it for? Maybe I can explain a few things about what you're after and why it'd be such a horrible idea for you to go for it." |

| Shen: "I need it to help someone." Shen tried to move forward, but even against a light grip, wasn't able to without using soul energy, which she never used except when she was getting attacked. Shen: "Let me go." Her right hand, the one with the ball of soul energy in it, raised a little into the air, as if she was going to drive it through Evan's arm. |

| Evan: "Don't." His grip tightened to an almost painful level as the energy around him focused into a single, controlled flow. He took Shen by the arm, pulled hard, and actually threw her away from the entrance to the ruins! As he let go, he refused to face her. Instead, he stood staring off to the side, silent and waiting. |

| Shen was flying through the air thinking, she seemed to stay in the air a lot longer than she should've and only when she was about to hit the ground did she flip over and land on her feet. Shen: "I. Will. Get. In." Shen focused a ball of soul energy into her right and left hands. She rushed towards Evan, almost gliding, and jumped into the air, comming down straight from above with one hand held out, the blue energy wisping off of it. Shen: "I can't let you, a lost soul, stop me!" More soul energy gathered onto her right hand, the one she held out while falling, and she sped up, now bulleting down through the sky. |

| The hand flew forward, and Evan's fist shot out, gripping it and turning it into another throw away from the door. He scowled and stomped his foot, sending a shockwave through the ground at Shen as she flew. The shockwave quickly transformed into a pillar of earth that, if timed correctly, would jut up at her, hitting her as she flew in the air. Evan: "I can't let you, a random stranger, get this power!" |

| Shen blocked by thrusting her right hand into the pillar, stopping it from going any higher. She flipped up to her feet and looked at Evan. Shen: "And I can't let you, a random stranger, stop me from using it." Shen seemed to disappear for a second, but Evan saw her in the same place, and she hadn't moved one bit. All his senses would tell him, she was right there. Shen: "I can't let you stop me. I know you have your reasons, but nothing will come to harm, and I need it." Shen moved around quickly, yet the only one Evan could sense at all was the one that stood on the pillar in front of him. Shen was now directly behind him, another orb of soul energy in her hand. The fake Shen disappeared as Shen struck out from nearly point blank range. Shen: "Anima Orb!" The orb of anima, or soul, if it hit the target directly, it would distort all of the senses, give someone a very drained feeling, and drain their energy all at once. The physical damage was low, but the energy taken away could be very high. |

| Evan: "Uh?----!" To him, it seemed as though Shen was moving from place to point, place to point, far away and up close... What kind of magic was this? The moment the fake Shen disappeared, Evan whirled around, only to see her push the Soul orb into him! "What kind of---!" He was thrown backward by the strike! When he hit the ground he expected nothing short of a fast kickup, but lo and behold his legs and arms didn't have the strength to move at all. What kind of magic, indeed... "I.... I can't move...." His legs and arms, normally rife with energy and unbridled power, quivered as though they were weak and out of shape... |

| Shen held both hands together and more soul energy formed, but it started to change. Blue electric arcs began shooting off in every direction. Shen held her hands abover her, then jumped high into the air, aiming her hands at Evan. Shen: "Forgive me, but I don't have time to spare. Elemental Anima: Lightning!" A blast of blue electricty half fell, half shot, towards Evan. At about the half way point, it took on the speed of lightning and struck. All the ground where it had struck had spread the electricty, and simply dodging the main blast would just leave you to get electricuted from the ground. Shen: "By being able to manipulate... I have more control. You should just give up and let me pass." |

| Evan: "Gaaaaaaaaaah!" Direct hit! The lightning left Evan charred in the dust. All too easy, right? Wrong. The moment Shen retracted from her attack, his body began to move again, the pain of her previous attack sending adrenaline through Evan's muscles and giving him the fear, if not the strength, he needed to move again. He got to his feet. It would take a lot more than that to bring him to his knees for good. He flexed his muscles and wiped the ashen leather from his clothes, flexing his muscles and glad to be able to use them again. It seemed as though the time for talk was over. With a grunt half of approval and half of frustration, Evan charged forward with unprecendented speed, his hands aflame and his spirit enraged. He came out swinging, trails of fire coming from his rapidly retracting and repeatedly striking fists. "Ha! Burning Flurry!!!" |

| Shen seemed to be caught off guard as she tried to throw a soul shield in front of her, just to have it smashed before it was fully established with Evan almost touching her now. A thought spun through her head as she was shot back from all the blows. She landed on her back and flipped up, parts of her clothes burning. She smiled a little broader as a much more consentrated ball of anima appeared in front of Evan. Shen: "Big Bang!" The ball of soul energy collided with Evan's soul energy, and from Shen's point of view, a huge energy orb surronded the ball of soul energy and Evan. It collapsed upon itself, then exploded, sending her flying back further, being injured even more. The fires on her clothes were out though, and she got to her feet relatively quickly. Shen: "If you can managed to speak, say something so I can make sure you aren't seriously injured." Shen's Big Bang wasn't her ultimate attack, and it didn't require or produce a lot of energy, but the mechanics behind the attack made it one of the most dangerous. When two souls collide, or a fragment and a soul, it results in them mixing. If it had been two real souls, they would've seen everything that person experienced, and probably both of the souls would ascend without question. However, using a fragment had a more tangible effect, and it usually resulted in the fragment mixing with the real soul, rejecting each other, and by the sudden movement of the two focused sources of energy, created a sudden gap in the universe. So, all the energy around contracts, when it takes to much energy in, it just explodes. Shen: "Seriously, if you took a direct hit from that, don't try to get back up." |
