I wondered what all the fuss was about. But I figured it out when I saw the cake and the L replaced with a 7.

They'd never leave beta, though. You'd recieve 20 pairs of socks or so and distribute them however.

What was your guys's first time using good ole' Google?

When I first got internet at my house. It's the first search engine that I ever used and I found it myself.

I've used Google ever since I was on the internet. think about it, though, soon, google will be the ULTIMATE Search engine. It already has Imasges, and don't forget Froogle! if we didn't have Google, this would be a thread you might see:

Somen00b: DUH WERE CAN I FIND MARIO ROM?

SomeMod: -Insert 2nd-best search engine- *Closes*.

Sad, Eh? I really don't know any search engine nearly as good as google, though.

How did you "find" it yourself?
LET ME GUESS

I used AltaVista. I don't know why. I never tried Google until I was in 9th grade. I guess by figuring out the difference of my ages from then and now, and subtracting that number from Google's age, we can figure out how many years I've been a noob. But that's a level of math I don't want to think about.

I don't really remember what I used prior to google. I think I was too young before that to need an internet search engine. If I did, I probably asked one of my older siblings to find the info for me. Who knows what they used.
I was introduced to google at school as well, we had computer labs once a month and were told to use google (which was the homepage on those computers) to find info.

Concordia pushes the use of Google as well and has WORKSHOPS on it.

Yes. 1 or 2-hour workshops on how to PROPERLY search with Google.

Something that might take a user, oh, a few minutes to figure out as long as they're not computer illiterate.

Well, Happy Birthday, Google.

I've been using Google for a while, and I have to say I'm fairly fond of them. I'm fond of their innovation in a lot of things. They're not afraid to try new things... and they're also not afraid to have a little bit of fun either.

While they have become increasingly commercial, they still manage to keep their search interface and main page very clean and neat (as opposed to say.. Yahoo!), and they still have very good, accurate results.

As for searching properly in Google, well... I know a lot of people who don't utilise Google well for searching. There can be a bit of a trick to it at times.

In school they didn't introduce us to Google..in Middle school they told us to use Yahooligans I think it was in Middle school either that or it was Elementry but I don't tihnk we had that much experience with computers then..well me in 6th grade. I think it was Middle school for sure. I don't remember when I started using it. Maybe I found it or it was suggested also in middle school but I didn't check it out until I got a computer of my own which was 9th grade year.
