| I've been doing some practicing with Paint Shop Pro 8, using some online tutorials. There's a lot of stuff that I tried, but didn't save, because things just didn't do what they were supposed to, or because I didn't have everything I needed, since some tutorials were made for PSP 9... Still, here are two things I did. First up is [Elric] done as a glassy text:  That one was pretty easy. The only real hard part was finding a color it looked good in.  Next is [Elric] done as flaming text:  I'm not too happy with the rising flames. I definatly need some practice with the warp brush. Of course, an artistic sense would help too. |

| Yeah, a few people have said it's hard to read the fire one. I have no problems, but that's probably just because I made it, so I know what I'm looking at. The two hardest parts for the flame one are finding a good font, and making the flames look like flames... They crystal one was a lot easier. It used a... I think it was a cyan color, so I messed with it to make the blue, since I lieks teh bleu. I think for that one, I'm gonna try to make it transparent next... Meanwhile, here's some 3D text. The tutorial was actually to make a 3D star, but it was easy to see you could apply it to just about anything:
I made this one transparent. I also had to use a lower-case 'e' with the font to make it look good. (The capital letters are done in the old-skool Metallica "M" style )Hmm... Blue text on blue BG... yarr... I'll just whip up a small table for it...  |

| Thanks. That one's super easy to do. Throw out the text or shape, use the Inner Bevel tool with the specific settings, and it's done. Sometimes simple things are good. My daughter wanted her name in flames, so I did that. I used a different font from the one I used for my name in flames:  I'm not sure which one I like better... I think it's probaby easier to read her name, but the flames seem to be lacking something (other than the obvious look of flames xD)... It might be becase with the first one, I started each flame near the top of each letter when I was making them, and for this one, I started each flame near the middle of each letter. Maybe if I tried it in the middle of those two... |

| I need to try out those tutorials for Paint Shop Pro so I could do that stuff to . I know a few things but I need to touch up on that stuff so I can improve plus more. They are coolio though..better than what I can do..at this moment . It does kind of look like a volcano. |
