Due to (un)popular demand, I'm goign to decribe this thread before it gets bogged down in socks. Basically this is a thread to talk about some of the things that annoy you in life, some unimportant dilemas. Allright, so here's the deal. I always run out of white socks and get stuck with having to wait for white clothes to make even half a load. I don't really have much in terms of white clothing so... yeah. Here's the crux of this little problem. I have two options. I could either 1) get more white clothing or 2) get colored socks (I'd probably end up sticking with black). I'm pretty sure most of you could care less about what kind of socks I wear and what kinds of problems I run into but... this IS rather annoying. (edited by Bit-Blade on 09-18-05 02:24 PM) |

Well, most recently, the vacuum cleaner I am borrowing from my grandparents burned up for no fault of my own. A great deal of my house cleaning chores require me to vacuum as either the task itself or as a pre-requisite to this task. This is very distressing to me, and I don't know if I should: 1) Wait for my grandparents to return my vacuum so I can use it; 2) try using the carpet cleaner/steamer for these tasks (I don't believe it will work); 3) use a broom to clean messes (Difficult on carpet, I fear); or 4) simply let the mess lay, this isn't an option I want to consider though.

I never have problems with socks... Then again, 3/4ths of my entire wardrobe is either grey/white. The other 1/4th is blue. Get a few grey shirts to balance it out. Its not a bad color honestly |

What kind of socks are they? I just have plain white cotton socks, and they seem to work decently enough with the rest of my laundry. No staining on coloring yet... |

When I have to get gas while I drive to college and I don't have any cash. These stations don't accept my Randolph Brooks credit card so I have to go to an ATM machine, drive to a station to get gas, and be thankful that I'm better late than never. Procrastination, it's a bad habit I have. I could take anything simple and turn it into a crisis for myself, pretty stupid eh?

I live with both my mom and my dad (who are divorced), and it's a daily basis that I have to go from one house to the other. This means that every day, I have to bring everything I may need for that night, the next day, or the whole weekend with me everywhere I go. CDs, school books, homework, and other everyday things have to be lugged around EVERYWHERE. I often forget things, or lose them, because of this, and I get in trouble for it. It's quite annoying. |

That's actually a pretty legitimate dilema you have there, Danielle. It seems unreasonable that you should have to live that way. Not that I'm trying to tell you what you should do but... my sister lives with my mother, and I live with my father. Even if I had never had a sister I would probably have stayed with my pop. I visit my mother, but not every day. I dunno... it just seems a bit... much to be living at two places at the same time. The way you say it it sounds like your car is more than half your room x.o Although I will say, as far as college goes cars are the ULTIMATE locker/back pack. |

Well they got divorced when I was 3, so my brother and I couldn't make that decision. The schedule now is a court order that was created to solve their dispute over who got the kids, my brother and I. This is pretty much how it will be until I graduate from high school..

Ouch... yeah, that's understandable. My parents seperated 10 years ago when I was 12. Eventually they did divorce, but they never got back together. They had both agreed that they let me and my sister choose who we wanted to live with. I had a feeling my sister would want to live with my mother, so I choose my father because I didn't want him to be totally alone. I'm really glad they didn't get into some petty possession dispute about us. It made things a lot easier for me and my sister. I guess I take it for granted that the way my parents did things isn't the way most divorced parents handle this kind of situation, so I apologize for that.

Ack both of my parents are divorced, I've been living with my mom, but I know what it's like to be torn between two parents like that, I used to have to live between my mom and my dad (i.e. alternating times to be with each) and it was terrible.

I wear regular socks and almost always black ones. You can´t see when they´re dirty. I don´t suffer any dilemmas right now, though. |

I almost always prefer to never wear socks. They're so annoying, and they get holes too easily.

One annoying thing about socks is that alot of them seem to disappear in the washing machine, so you're stuck with only one from each pair.

I love socks. I hate wearing sandals just because you can't wear socks with sandals. I wear low cut socks, the kind that can easily be covered by my shoes for the most part. They're comfy, and they don't look unnattractive or anything. |

Dear Poofy Ass Bleached Blonde Moron, Thirty-odd years ago, the national speed limit was dropped to 55 miles per hour because the country's gas supply was critically low and that is the most gas-efficient highway speed at which to drive. We may be on the verge of a similar crisis, and in any case, gas is ass-fucking-expensive. Thus, I am driving 55, which also happens to be the posted speed limit on this highway. Your attempts to insert the engine of your Lexus Hemorrhoid (what else should I call something that keeps riding my ass?) into my trunk whilst traveling at highway speeds will not conjure a metric fuckpile of cheap gas. Neither will waving your hands in a annoyed fashion. In fact, they will encourage me to ease off the accelerator because I think it is hil-fucking-arious to watch you get your suburbanite panties in a knot over something as utterly inconsequential at being five minutes late for your nail appointment. I also think it's funny that you apparently forgot all about the existence of the left lane, which is there so that you can (now here's a concept) PASS ME. Besides, if I happen to require a sudden stop and you rear-end me, you'll be paying out the nose because, in Pennsylvania, you're automatically at fault in that sort of accident. Ta! Signed, Someone who doesn't care to fill up at $3.15 a gallon if she can avoid it by driving more conservatively |

Gas in the U.S. is not ass fucking expensive. People in other countries pay way more. Just speed, you save tons of gas. That being said, retards who laugh at my jokes piss me off. |

It's ass-fucking-expensive compared to its price in this area in recent memory (and especially expensive compared to a decade ago when I started driving...back then, the high-octane stuff was $1.40 a gallon). It has dropped to about $2.70/gallon for the cheap stuff, but still, if I can save money (and not have to worry about watching out for state troopers ), why not drive the speed limit? And even so, the impatient should use the fricking passing lane for its intended purpose instead of riding the ass of the person in front of them. Speeding on the highway wouldn't make much of a difference in my gas mileage if it were an occasional outing, but I commute this way five days a week, so it constitutes the vast majority of my driving. I reset the trip meter each time I fill up to get an idea of what sort of fuel economy I'm getting, and I noticed that I got many more miles out of the tank this time around. |
