I'm sure everyone's noticed that Nintendo rarely takes financial losses on every new venture, right? I say rarely because I'm not too sure if they took an actual profit loff from the Virtual Boy. The controller isn't going to kill them, and it'll be fun. Besides, imagine getting drunk and playing Mario Party with this. It'd be fucking awesome. |

Ummm, no they don't because they have the hand held market firmly in their devillish grasp and most of their systems do well enough. The problem is when you can't recoup the cost of R&D, and if they don't do it this time they'll be in big trouble. Srsly.

Two things appeared in my mind when i first saw that thing on IGN. Its a joke. It wont sell. But then a read the artivle once. Then again and again. It all made sense to me. It was perfect. Imagine metroid prime 3. That control becomes an arm cannon.. Star wars. Its sudenly a lightsaber. Zelda, its your master sword. It will truly be amazing however ninty are going to have to have a decent starting line up to get all the third partys to sign up.

I think they have learned their lesson though, and this controller actually looks like a winner. |

Maybe Sega will make a Feel the Magic type game for the Revolution as well.

They could call it something like.... 'Where do teenagers smoke?' Okay that's a pretty bad name...but anyway, on topic, some minigames may include: 1.Rob the granny The object is to move the controller forwards then backwards, like in a stabbing motion, until granny dies. Then you steal her money! 2.Bend over (Sequel to 'Rob the granny') You get arrested for robbing granny, and a delightfully mucho man drops his soap in the shower. You tilt the controller diagonally to bend over and pick it up. Hilarity ensues 3.Slice the mucho man (if you complete 'Bend over' this is your revenge) Go over to mucho man and while he's sleeping, swing the contoller to slice him into bits. YOU WIN! |

re: Lilmario: That's cute, he's trying to prove to 50 Cent he's a thug. AWWWW. (Editor's note: The above may have been an excuse to quote Yukmouth's "Game Ova", which pisses all over "Internet thug" the Game.) Seriously, I'm seeing the blowing-up-in-Nintendo's-face potential dropping like a rock. Keep the name so it'll live up to the controller. |

So basically the only people who really don't like this thing are Sion, who's a fan of Naruto, and knuck, who's knuck. I think you can see where I'm going with this. (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 09-17-05 09:57 PM) |

I dont really hate it, but I think it looks stupid, and would be sorta uncomfortable, especially for people with big hands....however I have to say that nintendo is being pretty original compared to everyone else.

Original, yes, but more than anything I just want to see this thing in practice. Given the kinds of games Nintendo produces and supports, I can't really see the controller working for too many games until I see otherwise.

one thing I dont think will work really well with it are RPG's, or something that needs you to react fast...the only thing I can think of that would work pretty much very well, is a shooter like House of the dead...it seems to fit that kind of game the most.

I read a nice quote... Nintendo's becoming the Apple of gaming. That's not necessarily a good/bad thing, but you can tell they're going more towards innovation now instead of same-old, same-old. RPG's can be pretty simple if you don't need many buttons. |

All I know for sure is that I'd have to do some pretty extensive playing time in the store on demo machines before I'd buy one (and in this case, I'd be trading in my game cube for it ). (edited by Thayer on 09-17-05 11:45 PM) |

Trading it in only for cash? I'll probably trade mine in IF they take it since it'll be compatible with GC games anyways. At least that's smart. |
