The D-Pad could be used as 4 seperate buttons if you have the analog stick addon. So that's 6 pretty easy to reach buttons.

So far we have nunchucks and boomerangs. And an X-Box controller. So far the systems have turned out to look like a used tampon (the X-Box 360 with red faceplate), a DVD case that is standing at a bizzare angle and finally a George Foreman Grill.

So far the PS3 can be used to hunt pesky kangaroo, and then cook them. So far it = win.

Personally, I'm a little turned off by its appearance but I think it has potential, and I don't want to really bash on it until I've tried it myself. And Jeff's right... motion detection = AWESUM!!!!!!!!!!1111one

Isn't Revolution supposed to be backwards compatible?

If the motion detection works with RE4, I will be in heaven.

at first i thought it looked stupid but i thought about the applications this controller will have. just like the DS, i thought it was a stupid idea but i actually want to get a DS now because of certain games that are coming out soon. if nintendo can get a healthy lineup of fun games that properly makes use of this controller, i'll probably get myself a revolution. especially since it'll probably be the cheapest of the 3 consoles. mostly interested in potential of a first person dragonball z game where i can kamehameha stuff. you know, you pull the controller back while holding onto the b button or something, then thrust the controller forward while releasing the button to shoot the ki blast. that'd be pretty cool.

Best observation to date.

I think the Controller should have two aditional buttons where the lower two are, but positioned as on a SNES-Pad, just that when you hold the controller sideways, it is like a SNES Pad, instead of a NES-Pad.

Also it is the first 1st Party Controller of modern day consoles (1983 and later) wich can by used by left and right handed people (the same way unconfortable).

And for catching on the old Cube Jokes:
A Pourse for Women, a powder thingi hand mirror for women, now a *ahem* for women.

Is Nintendo Womanized or what? (Cube, SP, Revo_Controll).

Guys... 3rd party developers won't have any problems with this; a 'shell' controller can be hooked up to the remote, and played just like an ordinary game. Developers will be able to go along with their business (lazy bums).

What's more, as the remote is hooked to the shell, the controller will still have that direction sensory thingy, making it far better than the average controller.

It seems that everyone who's actually played with or even *touched* the thing really likes it, so we'll see.

I'm sure Nintendo's going to have to deal with the "OMG YOU EXPECT US TO PORT GAMES ON THIS?!?" arguments from companies, but it'll all depend how the console performs out of the gate. If it ends up selling well and if the controller ends up giving people an awesome gaming experience, then companies will bite the bullet and try to capitalize on it. And there's always add-ons for the controller itself if designers start getting brain cramps.

...Then again, all it'll take is one well-crafted Star Wars game where you use the controller as a Lightsaber and the system will fly off the shelves.

Knuck, most of these people are Nintendo developers. What do you expect?

Plus, last I heard it's compatible with Gamecube controllers.

And... How exactly does the Gamecube resemble a purse?

Well... It has a handle and could be sorta carried like a purse.
Anyways, I think GameCube controllers will only work if you play the GameCube games or old ports.

knuck: No it's not. You can check GameSpot/IGN/1-Up/etc.

As for fanboyism itself... well... let's just say Nintendo finally managed to split the fanboys somewhat.

I think I recall my mom complaining about the Gamecube controller being uncomfortable for her. And she is left-handed. Then, she does use the mouse with the right hand. But that's becuse the rest of the family is right-handed.

Not only left handed, but I had once gave my GBA with Pacman to my dad to play it, he only played it on a old C64 Unit back in '85, and he's used to a joystick in the right hand, so he put the GBA on a table and rotated it for 180 degrees and played with the directional pad.

To paraphrase Pantsman: It looks like a sex toy and has rumble support.

However, not only can it double as a lightgun, it actually seems to work very well.

I don't know. I'm still torn on it. All the reviews are great...But how easy is it for developers compared to the Kangaroo Killer of the PS3 or the X-Box controller (NOW IN WHITE!) for the X-Box 360? I just want to know if Nintendo will be basically supporting the system on its own with imaginative Nin titles...And have a Dreamcast life cycle (excellent games, third party or not) with very few, well, 3rd party games. Because gradually we've seen support for Nintendo's systems slide with every new "innovation" they take. I am just worried that this may be too revolutionary for the gaming world =-\
