A kick ass series and definitely Quintin's best. It's a shame that Miramax (and NOT Quentin like so many people think) cut the movie into two parts. I could have easily watched the full thing in the theater and not gotten tired.

The first one was better. More action and less talking. Some parts in 2 seemed to drag on. The best part about 2 was Pai Mai hands down. The actor did a pretty good portrayal of the real guy. (Ever seen his old movies? Kick ass.)

And of course the soundtracks kick ass. It's a Quentin Tarentino movie for crying out loud. He's never made a soundtrack that hasn't kicked 100% ass.

On one side note about the first volume, I noticed that they used many old school sounds that are in some old kung-fu movies. I thought that was a nice touch.

Oh, and as for Buddy? That's Michael Madsen who just so happened to play the best Resevoir Dog, Mr. Blonde. I just thought I'd throw that in there.

And how could you guys NOT know that was censored? When the scene turned b&w, it should have been obvious.

If you're really interested, I'd suggest just joining your local sword club. They generally have a lot to offer...Or, if you don't have one...I'd suggest pick up this big book by Fred Fimio...It's 250 dollars Canadian...But it's worth it, it has every diagram and essay that you could ever want

Sword...Club...I wish. That would be too good to be true. The closest place that I would even consider having a sword club would be Savannah, and that's an hour away. Good lord, there's no way I'll ever be able to learn all this.

Just watched it few hours ago. It was tight XD. Whole lot of fight, not to much chit chat. It was perfect. I could have fitted in a little but more of what was going on but it was good enough. I want to see Vol. 2 now . The music was pretty good, maybe I should get the soundtrack. Did they even mention her name? In the beginning they played some sound over it. Like a message sound.

So some of it was black and white for editing reasons or what? It was cool though. How it managed to mix in real time with the cartoonish effects.

The B&W was an editing technique, they thought we American's couldn't handle the blood. C'mon people! This is A M E R I C A, I've seen Re-animator, nuff said.

Yeah, that's what I thought. We could handle that. I've seen worse. My sister was complaining that it was too bloody though. My mom didn't seem to care . She liked it.

1) Good to hear you like the movie.
2) That was a bit more information than we needed.

This movie is so damn well shot, from the black and white (I thought it was normal, but it was cool the way it transitioned from a blink.) and the silohuette. Shame about the strings on the plane >>

I thought little touches like the strings on the plane were awesome. And the footage in Vol. 2 shot on poor, grainy film with the crazy transitions. All in homage to old kung fu movies. It's great.

A friend of mine brought it over and we watched it. Really awesome and I'm definitely going to see Vol. 2.

Gee, I wish I had a 17 year old female bodyguard who wore a schoolgirl outfit.

I doubt he's interested in protection.
