I don't know how to do this, but i've seen in some PC's that special characters like #$0a, #$0d are shown as a "squares". I need this because in the hex editor that i'm using, it shows them as spaces. I know i can see in the bytes area the value of that spaces., but it's more comfy if i can see them as those squares in the ansi text area so i can realize that i must not overwrite them. My HW and SW specs are: SW: Windows XP pro with no service pack Hex editor: Axe 3.4 Jap IME installed (i've not the problem with "/" showing as ¥ ) HW: CPU: Athlon XP 2000+ Mother board: MSI KT3 ...well i think the hardware does not make any difference EDIT: i fixed the ¥ showing in the post (edited by aioria1981 on 09-10-05 02:04 PM) (edited by aioria1981 on 09-10-05 05:45 PM) |

This is usually dependent on the editor. Most I know of show non-text characters (00-1F and 7F-FF) as periods. | |||

But in PC's in my collegue they're shown as "squares" with the same editor that I'm using in my PC. Isn't it something related to "regional configuration" (or sth like that, I'm using spanish version of windows XP) in Control Panel? |
