I'd guess a good 60% of getting elected is how much money you have to work with, and how charismatic you are. Sounds like a celebrity's domain to me.

Well, at least Larry Flynt wasn't elected (though come to think of it, I would have voted for him.. )

But seriously, in general I'm tired of celebrity BS becoming anything more than BS because they're famous *cough*TomCruise*cough*. Oh well, can't blame them for running, blame the people for voting for em .

That's because you're ignorant, a sexist, or an idiot. Hillary Clinton is a very intelligent woman and would make a much better president than Douchebag Jr.

The only celebrity I would ever vote for would have to be Oprah.

Well, only if she had some prior knowledge of how to run a small part of the government, say the House or Senate (even though I doubt that Oprah's ever going to run for anything).

Hilary Clinton sounds good, really, but I doubt it's gonna happen

Too many sexists in America.

If Oprah ran and won, that'd be a huuuugeee revolution for our country. A black woman! We haven't had any women or black people!

I think she actually could run the country pretty well.
She'd give everyone free cars at her debates.

Hmm..Oprah? Not sure..she seems intelligent enough but not the background in politics.

Hilary Clinton I'd probably vote for. If a celebrity got into being president..I dont know what would happen It could happen..but then again..maybe not. Have we had any women try to run for president..? I dont think so though..so she'd be the first one to run for president .

Actually, I think Elizabeth Dole ran a few years ago in a few primaries, but threw in the towel early. I'm sure other women have run before, too. Hillary just has the best chance of any woman so far to actually become the party's nominee. Of course, it probably wouldn't happen, America has too many sexist rednecks as opposed to say Britan (Margaret Thatcher).

Yeh, I think that Hillary can do a good job if she is elected. And she´s a democrat.

Not that I have anything against republicans, though.

Um, it's not the fact that Hilary is a woman that I'm afraid of her, it's the fact that she's just a little bit unstable. She's not all the different from her "husband" and unlike Bill she still believes that his impeachment was a right wing conspiracy. I guess my major issue with her is that I don't think I could ever trust her, nor could I Bill Clinton, and right now not George Bush. THat's why I wanted Gore back in the day, cause I had no trust issues with him, and that's why I hope somebody runs for president that is honest with the people.

And MacGyver could solve all the worlds problems in a week with just some string, a pack of gum, and a paper clip.

"...I hope somebody runs for president that is honest with the people."

Quoted for hilarity. It is impossible to be a successful politician and be honest with your constituents at the same time, let alone an entire nation of voters. Because, as anyone in politics knows, the truth is entirely subjective, whenever you intend to be honest to a group of people from any semi-prestigious position, you are undoubtably lying to some of them.

Being cynical is fun.

I know people leaving the Repuiblican Party because of Bush.

HORAHY!

And yeah, I wouldn't run for president just because of the fact that, basically, 50% of the world you have to lie to just to get your way.

Joke or not, actor or not, you can still write them in. Hell, Michael Moore got a lot of people to write in "ficus tree" on ballots, correct? It was a campaign for a friggin tree! AND IT GOT VOTES!!!

Whatever. I'll be voting by that time, so I'll probably write in Roger Rabbit.

Most people don't know who to vote for. I don't remember who the person was, but in some governor race there were two people running, one of them died before the elections (with enough time for people to find out) but he ended up winning out over the living person. That either means that other candidate was so bad taht they'd rather have a dead man in office or that nobody really took the time or effort to find out that that guy had died. In the end they let the dead man's widow take office for him, but still, very interesting voting habits going on here.
