You might want to contact Zerodius; as far as I know, he still seeks two teammates so that he can continue the tournament as part of a group. His two previous partners have been unavailable.

Otherwise, if you'd like to begin a new team, I urge you to do it quickly. Round Two begins soon, and if you do not enter by then you will have to wait another month.

Over at the judges table, Waddler-D sat next to two plushies. One of them was actually Teddylot, conked out in an offline trance. The other was just a doll version of Kirbynite, with his angel wings. There was a note attached onto the Kirbynite doll.

"Out of town for a day. Stopping a fire dragon and an ice dragon from terrorizing the land, much to the dismay of Nakase.

--Sorry,
Kirbynite"

*Glances at the goofy dolls set aside him...* Errr, is this going to be a one judge competition!? I certainly hope not, considering that we need more of a spread-out decision. Not done just by one whole person, like me. Oh well... *Sits back down and waits for the judges to replace their doll counterparts*

Teddylot: *wakes up from his offline trance and looks around* What?! It's over already? But those fights barely have any meat on them! Oh well.

Teddylot hopped out of his chair and shuffled his way to the voting booth. After entering, the bear shut the curtain, but only to pop his head back out.

Teddylot: By the way, I am my doll counterpart. =P *pulls his head back inside the booth*

*Looks at Kirbynite's doll counterpart* Rackin' fracking... KIRB! *Pulls out golf club and hops on the table. Then positioning the club head next the Kirbynite doll, he pulls it back and screams...* Fore! *Smacks the doll to the nearby wall*

Please Kirb, hurry up with the judging just a tad. It's good to be slow and steady on these things sometime, but... yeah, it'll eat a lot of time for the tournament.

*Slowly waltzes over to Kirbynite's hurtin' doll*

The famed judge, Teddylot steps out of the judge's debate corner, the place where the three judges have been discussing the possible winners. The teddy stepped onto the highly decorated stage which was made to look much like an arena. The other two judges were seated in their respective seats, while the participants stirred nervously in theirs.

Teddylot: Hey there everybody! I bet these last few days have been nerve racking! After a very heated debate, we three judges (of the Judge Dread team) have decided on who the winners are.

Teddylot reached into his pocket and pulled out two, open-topped coconuts and set them on the podium.

Teddylot: First off, the Blue/Green fight.

Teddylot reached into the respective coconut and pulled out three pieces of parchment. He opened the first one. It was crudly written.

Teddylot:

Blue Team: 0
Green Team: 1

He repeated the action and found the same thing except in a sloppy print.

Teddylot:

Blue Team: 0
Green Team: 2

No need to open the third parchment even though it was for the Green Team.

Green Team wins over the Blue Team with a unanimous vote.

Teddylot: Now, for the Red/Yellow match. Just to let you know, this was a tough decision as it took around six hours of debating to find out who the winner of the fight is.

Teddylot pulled another three parchments from the other coconut and then opened them one by one.

Teddylot: First vote.

Red Team: 0
Yellow Team: 1

Second vote.

Red Team: 1
Yellow Team: 1

Third vote . . .

Red Team: 2
Yellow Team: 1

Teddylot: And with that, the Red Team inches away with a victory over the Yellow Team. Congratulations everybody! *confetti*

And now, a word from our judges.

Kirbynite flutters over to the main stage as soon as Teddylot sits down. The beating of his tiny angel wings somehow gain the attention of the clambering crowd

Kirbynite: Ahem. I know we were supposed to PM SilverShield, but I believe it's best to point this stuff out to the fighters, so they may work on their fighting for the next round. Every member of team... *dark music* Judge Dread *end dark music* will have their own special thing to do, as well as giving away personal call beads. I'll explain the beads further after all of this insanity. The other judges may add comments onto these reviews.

Blue vs Green :

Attendance problems were rampant everywhere; if Blue's attendance was ignored, the problem would've come from Green's JDavis. There were some issues with multi actions in posts. After much thinking.. "counter, action" is just a more destructive version of "block, action" or "evade, action". I was saddened to see that such a wonderful setting was wasted in this battle. Blue Team took no advantage of the environment. Blue Team took no example of Green Team's way of posting, and kept with the bland actions and extensive OoC explanations. And Blue consistantly ignored the actions of the others, being a boss-like character isn't an excuse, either. Zerodius must get some better partners and fix up his act, or they're not gonna be going too far

Red vs Yellow :

I really enjoyed this fight. Jarukoth was tickling my Ninja fancy, but I tried hard not to let it get in the way I couldn't see much teamwork going on either side, though. The mist just seemed to have become an environmental hazard, which Jarukoth was the only one to take advantage. Though, it could've just been that there wasn't a chance for teamwork. Red Team made an effort to find each other, but the mist was in the way. And Callean did get in the way of flames that were meant for Jarukoth... Rad put his team at a disadvantage with his FFT moves, which one wouldn't be able to figure out unless they have actually played Final Fantasy Tactics. Jin also lowered some points with his Light Cage move. Also, instead of letting things take its course, Dogan had his post edited, which really.. *frowns*

Kirbynite flies over to the Green Team. In his hand, a small object with Kirby's face on it emitted a light. It was a pink jewel encrusted in a white-gold.

Kirbynite: Here you go. This is a Kirbynite Call Bead. It's the first of the three personal Call Beads we're giving out in this round.

Waddler-D steps out and the crowd suddenly grew silent and a few snickers were heard...

Waddler: Why must you guys always treat this guy with disrespect? It must be my hertiage... Anyway, something I'd like to add about the matches. Be careful with some of the block and action moves, I've seen some bad examples of people using two actions in which it would look like that character is doing two moves in one post... Not some that is looked upon with frowns. Usually grabs are not considered two moves, because it's basically a combo and combos are pretty legal...

Anyway, here are the individual rankings that we constructed from what we saw in the matches, so please... don't get mad at us for what we have here, just try to overcome your position by putting more effort in the battle. Of course, if you're first, still do the best that you can. Enough blabber, here's the ranks:

1st: Melvin
2nd: Silvershield
3rd: Troy
4th: Jarukoth
5th: Ziff
6th: Taffy
7th: JDavis
8th: Rad
9th: Dogan
10th: Zerodius

Oh yeah, personal bead thing... *Pulls out a bead, one that glowed a dark violet color, and if you look a little closer, you could see a small spinning vortex in the center. He then waddles over to the Yellow team and hands it off to them.* It's a Waddler-D Call Bead, if you use this baby at the right time, it's sure that you'll get a nice lead over your opponents...

That's all I have to say, but good luck to you other guys in the next round!

Teddylot: What my turn again already?!

Teddylot stepped forward to the podium once again and easily hushed the crowd with his intimidating self.

Teddylot: Since my fellow judges of the Judge Dread Team have easily summed up the "mishaps" of the two battles, I have nothing else to do except add onto it. First off, the area I found most lacking throughout both battles, was teamwork. Normally, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but since that is what most of this tournament is based on, I suggest working a bit harder on that. Zerodius . . . get team members! If you don't, you will constantly lose each match you're in because you won't be getting points for Teamwork. Besides, it defeats the purpose of this tournament. Plus, it'd give you some sort of fighting chance at winning this tourney.

As for my Call Bead . . . Normally, I would have given mine to the Green Team since they did tickle my fancy, but Kirb has taken my pick. So instead, I will be passing out my Bead to the other winner, the Red Team.

However, that is not all, one of the teams represented today will be recieving two extra Call Beads for excelling in certain components of fighting. These two Call Beads are awarded to, the Green Team for excelling in Entertainment and Comprehension.

Good job to every team for participating! Be sure to stick around for the next round and try and improve on the key points we judges have pointed out. *sits back down*

Kirbynite, once again flies back to the podium. He isn't complaining about it, since he enjoys using those angel wings very much.

Kirbynite: Those two Call Beads that Teddylot handed out are actually Choice Call Beads. They allow the user to choose the judge they want to summon. The Personal Call Beads will only summon the judge.. well, that should be obvious. Wait a minute... Teddylot, you forgot to give them--

The winged Dreamlander watches Teddylot being chased out of the room by a pack of Spybots.

Kirbynite: Eh.. He'll give the beads later. Anyway, more on the beads. It's the team's choice when to use those things. When a bead is used.. it'll be considered an action. After the bead is used, the fight will continue on like normal. The judge will come in at anytime. You may have to wait five posts later for a judge can do something. A judge will get two posts: an entrance and action, and then a reaction and exit. *bows* That is all. I think..

Teddylot burst into the room. This time, however, he was carrying a baseball bat labeled "Search and Destroy" and he didn't have the flood of spybots after him.

Teddylot: Those accursed things will be back! I can count on it! Anyway . . . *reaches into his pocket, pulls out two call beads and hands them to Melvin* Use them wisely!

The teddy bear then made his way to the Red Team. After a few congratulatory handshakes on the victory, the bear handed them his own personal Call Bead. Naturally, it had a picture of himself on it.

Teddylot: *sits back down* I think we're done for now.

Kirbynite slumped down on his seat on his seat, and closed his eyes. He was trying to recouperate the energy he had lost in the past few hours.

Kirbynite: It took us five hours. FIVE HOURS to analyze and figure out the winners for the Red vs Yellow match. We all figured things out on our own for Blue vs Green. When the discussion started, we already had things figured out for that team, and was just messing around for a bit.

[Out of character - Wow, I am (pleasantly) shocked by how seriously you judges are taking this. The fighting is fun, but just reading your analyses is enlightening. Oh, and from now on, continue to post the results in this thread. I'd initially wanted your choices PM'ed to me in order to maintain privacy in regards to which judge has selected which team, but the ability to offer constructive criticism is really necessary.

Once again, congratulations for a great first round go out to all judges and competitors. I'll be starting the new battle threads soon, but first I'll make sure that Zerodius won't be going at it alone .]

NOTE to Judges: I know I should have cut a bit on the Off explanations... but many of NeoZerdius's attacks have special area-effects and unless I explain them really well, the foes may counter them with techs that logically, could never block them.

In fact, just using NeoZerdius was a problem in itself becease of his high power level.

Anyway... I'm not surprised that I'm classed 10th.

Boss character used + complicated to explain techs + character who is not adapted to the situation (has to use extreme means to win... but isn't allowed to) = Impossible fight

Even if I would have defeated all the enemies, the fact that my character is a "boss" character would have cancelled the effects of the victory and made me a loser anyway...

Whatever! This was only Round 1! As long as I don't get eliminated, I fix my mistakes! ... but first... I should get a new team.

"Boss" characters are meant to be beaten, comrade. That's what they're there for, hehe. Anyway, NeoZerodius lacked a lot of variety and it's not always fun seeing the same moves over and over again, if you get my drift...

Oh yeah, to help you out in a number of ways, try to give your character some "flavor" or "style", something that would define you as "Zerodius" even though the people didn't know your name until much later into the fight. Trust me, this helps...

((I'm sorry for the long arsed post. But I just want to show how things should be done, and this would be the best place to do it. ))

Kirbynite's eyes slumped down to a dull look. He started to fidget in his seat and fix his red cap.

"Zerodius.. This isn't a video game, you know. Video games are limited to powers that you can just use in the game. This is real life. There are powers that not even all of the gods can take care of. There are tons of abilities that are equal in power, or weaker.. or stronger.. "

The Dreamlander holds out a keychain with a mouse head-like shape. He hops out of his seat and starts walking towards a nearby window. Kirby's white wings slowly waved with each step.

"A weapon that's meant to vanquish evil with the power of light and hope... "

He puts the keychain away..

"... Can easily be replaced by a weapon..."

Kirbynite pulls out a striped rod with a glowing star on one end. He twirls the Star Rod, showing off the illumination.

".. Filled with dreams and wishes and is able to dispearse evil entities. An octopus-like monster can be quickly taken care off by a flaming attack.. As long as he's not that intouch with his watery side."

With the the Star Rod, Kirbynite writes the names 'Ultros' and 'Blooper' in the air. The glowing letters quickly disappear.

"In reality, lots of the fighters in this tournament are bosses. Best example I could say would be Melvin. He's been a villain plenty of times, and his fighting style does not change, whether he's on the side of good or evil. Most of the fighters here have something that make a good fight. Personality. Style. Flavor. All used with the same meaning in this situation."

The tiny angelic wings on Kirby's back begin to flap. The Dreamlander begins to flutter into the air, and out the window.

A lakitu, sitting ontop of his smiling cloud, hovers outside of the registration office. His camera was fixed on Kirbynite, who seems like he was up to something. Meanwhile, a tv screen flickered on inside of the room, showing everyone what was going on outside.

Kirbynite held his arm high, and seemed like he was yelling. Lakitu aimed his camera at the sky. He zoomed the lens a bit, and caught an object plummeting. The object descended at screaming speeds.
-------------
The koopa-like cameraman lost his sight on the target. Quickly scanning the city, he realized that the white object had landed. Before Kirbynite stood a white punching bag with eyes.

"Sandbag..", muttered Lakitu, with a look in his eyes that gave off the feeling that a sweatdrop was appropriate.
-------------
Kirbynite stumbled a bit. He was put into a daze with Sandbag's entrance. Having a punching bag fall on your head isn't gonna feel like a feather touching you.

All of a sudden, a huge, metallic heap landed ontop of Kirbynite. Lakitu nearly fell off his cloud at the sight of the Heavy Lobster X.0, Mark IV. The large mech shiimmered in the sun, showing off its golden shine.

The Heavy Lobster consisted of the main body, with the cockpit inside, several booster rockets in the back, two large legs, and two arms with large claws attached. The mech looked like half a humanoid mobile suit. Steam poured out of all the vents in the top leg units, and in the mech's underbelly.

The heap of metal took several steps back, revealing Sandbag, but no Kirbynite. A good observer would notice Kirbynite was inside of the cockpit, flipping switches and moving levers. Lakitu took the hint of keeping a fair distance to get all of the action that was about to unfurl.
------------
Sandbag blinked.
------------
Heavy Lobster's cockpit beeped as the lock-on's "Stubburn" feature was flipped on. A monitor appeared to Kirbynite's side, constantly showing Sandbag's location. The main body changed its position, lowering the frontend to face the puny punching bag.

A few moments later, the golden mech glowed with a translucent, blue aura. After scanning the target. Kirbynite quickly checked his shield gauge. At 100%, it was enough to last a few destructive hits from any insane berserking robots or magic-factuated demons. However, since Sandbag wasn't either, the shield didn't need to adjust itself to accomadate the target's capabilities.
---------
Sandbag just stared at the Heavy Lobster.
---------
Deciding not to waste time in lowering the shield to change the target's element, Kirbynite went with an all out barage. Various compartments flipped open on the Heavy Lobster. Both giant claws were wide open.

Missiles were suddenly fired out of the comparments and giant claws. The flying explosives were guided towards the little punching bag, thanks to the stubburn targeting system.

Kirbynite ejected out of the Heavy Lobster and flew back to the registration office. He continued flying until he got to his seat.

"See? That's how it should've been done. I've put little dashes to seperate what should've been posts. One doesn't need perfect grammar or extensive vocab. You just gotta atleast try to put some kinda effort. I hope you'll atleast try next time."

[Out of character - Excellent post, Kirbynite .

Quick request: can a moderator edit the Sim-Battle Tournament thread concerning the Red and Yellow Teams to, instead, use the Green Team's name to replace the Red? Everything in the thread itself is correct, but I neglected to double-check the title.

Edit: Wow, that took all of thirty seconds .]
