What's really funny is that I haven't seen that dumbass obnoxious bright yellow Hummer around town lately. I guess the gas-pissing Chevy Tahoe in disguise has kinda sorta lost its luster now.

Bah, the way I see it, Hummers have lost their "cool" luster when the H2 came out. Now, they just seem way too...civilian. I would hate to be the owner of a car like that right now. It cost me $32 the other day to fill up my car. I don't think I'll be driving that often for a while. |

I keep seeing more of those things here. It's annoying, but I enjoy laughing at them at the gas stations.

Octane 87? only about 3 dollars for 3.79 liters? That's cheap as hell! I don't think in europe you can get something lower than Octane 95 for less then 1.50 dollars a liter. Can a european help me, when it's called a 3 liter car, what does it refer to again? the amount of gas needed for 100km? EDIT: Walking 1.5 mile is much? Hello? I walk more than that to get my groceries. (I just hate busses, mostly I prefer the half hour train trip to Zürich). And for school I'm on the train for 15min, and another 15 for walking from and to station. With car, I would need more time. Well, now the gas has shot up for almost FOUR DOLLARS A GALLON where I live. Gah! I don't want to drive anymore. Good thing I have a very small job that requires very little driving. :] |

Yet again, this is another day that goes by where the gas stations by my house are completely out of gas, and what few that do have it, they're charging around $3.50 or so.

I've tried to stick with riding my bike or walking pretty much anywhere lately, as long as my destination isn't too far away, reasons that should be extremely obvious. There's actually not too many places I can think of needing a ride to right now. The farthest I've gone is to EB Games, which is about half an hour of riding, both going there and coming back. That's about as far out as the stores go as well. There's a place that sells furniture a bit further out, but from Walmart and on, the stores aren't nearly as close together. I actually felt a bit guilty asking my Mom to take me out to buy a game the other day as well. On the way back, we went past a gas station, at which the price was over a dollar. I don't know what it's like right now, but I'm assuming it's about the same as before. Also, now that school's started, as soon as winter sets in and it starts getting colder and snowing, my brother and sister are likely to refuse to walk to school, and beg my Mom for a ride. Who knows how much that'll cost in the end if prices are still like what they are right now at that time After all of that, on the 24th of this month, we're heading out to my Uncle's house for a family reunion. He lives outside of Wingham, which is a 3 hour drive, according to google's map. Add an extra hour in for potential stops, detours, or accidentally getting lost, and that might bump things up to more than 4 hours. The money that's going to be spent on gas for that trip is going to be apalling. If it wasn't for me looking forward to going out there, I'd actually suggest possibly staying home, and having everyone come to our house after Christmas sometime. One can only hope that gas prices decrease sometime soon |

Well in Chicago everything is fairly close, so riding a bike wherever you need to go isnt a problem at all. Also, after riding with an XBox in my backpack many times I can take on anything. The only thing to worry about would probably be getting hit by a car, or being mugged for your bike. Hasnt been a problem for at all though, ive rode my bike home at midnight with hundred of dollars in electronics and in my bag...and I made it home safe every time! |
