There are places hitting $3.45 here. No lower than $3.19.

1.43? I've got a friend in Yellowknife right now...

It's well over 2 dollars a litre. :\

Mind you, in North America we're morons and overuse resources like this. I'm happy that the price is so high, it should be kept that way in urban areas and in rural areas the farmers should be given subsidies on gasoline. Cut down on pollution and bring in urban and rural renewal.

I would like to have been walking but the only thing in walking distance (Less than 3/4 a mile) is a pizza place.
Not fun to walk 1 1/2 miles to get to the store and 1 1/2 home with groceries.

That's..far . Do you usually walk a lot? I sure don't..especially with the hot like fire here weather... I hope it cools down soon. How about using public transporation more? It'll save the earth from pollution .

No public transportation here and I only walk every now and then.

This is a rural area in West Virginia so its not exactly packed with malls and shopping places

Oh that's sad . Maybe you can get used to walking! I need to, I haven't had PE in years and I need to get back into shape. I guess with the gas prices going up this is a good time.

I should check to see how far the gas prices went up since the last time I got gas. It probably hit 3 bucks by now

I hope the gas prices go up to $5.00. The people say, we just have to pay it. So if the gas prices go up to five bucks and the people will say the same thing, we just have to pay it. You idiots. Waste of money. if you are paying that much, then it will cost about $100.00 a barrol. People these day will pay for any gas prices, I won't.

Meh..We just hit $3.30, but some places around here are under 3 bucks and people come up from Conneticut JUST to wait in a HUUUUGE line and get gas.

1. Aren't they wasting gas, waiting, sitting, and more importantly, COMEING UP HERE?!
2. The lines get so big and people get so roudy, they have like 5 cops and a guy to direct traffic ALL DAY. Even at night.
And the Big Number THREE!!!! : The state believes that by the end of the month, Gas Prices will be up to 4 bucks. Thats sad.

Someone at school said something about Alaska not letting us dig for oil...Whys that? Thats pretty stupid, it is a free country. Or is it anymore?

Heh.

Gas is still only $2.79 here.

But I've heard stories about a trucker refilling 4 tanks with gas (either that or one tank 4 time, I didn't really understand), and EACH AND EVERY TIME, the gas price went up in between the fills.

EU just released 60 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves. This oil will range from crude to finished petrol. It should reach the USA within 10 days. So, in two weeks prices will go down

I'm thinking of purchasing a nice winter moped for next year when I live off campus.

Hey, I could probably do that too, but the question is who would want to? It's tiring and takes quite a while. If you drive it's no sweat.

How far is 10 KM?

I walk way more than I did before to and from the lightrail station and on campus at school. Hopefully it'll keep me from being chunky haha..even though I'm not it could happen though!!

A winter moped sounds fun

Prices will go down? or not? It better soon

If you wait in line to get gas I would turn off my engine until people move..or something. Or does it take a lot of gas to turn the car on and off?

It was $3.15 and rising for the 87 octane stuff here last time I checked. I filled up earlier this week when it was below $3. Luckily I drive a small car that gets decent mileage (28 MPG overall)...but I do have to commute 10 miles to work each day. Blargh. I've been going without air conditioning and trying to stick to 55 MPH (the most gas-efficient high speed) on the highways, and I'll try to walk to as many places as possible (like the gym and other destinations in town). I'll have to plan shopping so I can go across town once instead of just zipping out as I please. Honestly, Randy and I can eat the extra gas cost without much trouble, but I'm worried about the supply itself, so it's time to conserve.

Our next car will definitely be a hybrid or a biodiesel burner. The waiting lists for hybrids must be quite long by now. I don't think we'll have to worry about that for a while, though. My car works fine and it doesn't have that much mileage on it (73,000 or so), so we should get many more years out of it.

Gas companies are going to milk this hurricane for all it's worth. I'm hearing that prices will be $5 within months.

D'oh. I forgot to say that although my personal direct consumption of gasoline isn't that expensive (especially compared to that of people who drive ginormous SUV's), I am concerned about the price of fuel in general. When gas is expensive, the cost of virtually everything else goes up because it costs more to transport materials and finished goods. I hope the EU oil will help.

Damn, helluva lot of money for some gas..I just started to drive too this summer and then the gas shoots up like this . I have to save as much gas as I can.

What's funny is when you're driving and the people in the SUV's speed past you..I laugh now with the gas prices
